About 1:30 p.m. saw somebody (Ivy I think) fly in from the south to take up position on the northeast corner of that contraption that juts up out of the Manitoba Hydro building. About 5 minutes later I saw Beloved parked on the northwest corner of the white cornice on cityplace, preening away.

Don't see a helmet in Pam's photo, Kinderchick -- but it sure sounds like a good idea to me!  :)

... From their perspective, they can also get closer to the windows which if the birds are bombing you, is a comforting feeling...

So, I was wondering, do the window washers in the downtown area, near the Radisson, wear helmets on their heads, just in case they get attacked by a peregrine falcon?  ???

Why is Princess just watching the window cleaning man and not attacking him?? Is it becuasse there are no eggs are yet to protect? I noticed the men that were on the ariel this week and no peregrins flying about

Princess is only just home and although she and Ivy have been "getting busy", they haven't really started to decide on real estate yet.  They are used to people on "their" building, they don't have a nest yet, the cleaner was a small target on the east side of the building (which hopefully means they are more interested in the west) and she's been through this before.  Or maybe she thinks he's cute for a human  ;)

Here's the window-washing scene today- Princess not fazed one little bit.

Very cool photo Pam!!  Definitely going to steal that from you  ;D

Unlike when we have to go up to band the little darlings when they nest on the ledge, the window-washers can use a bosun's chair, which tends to annoy the birds much less (smaller intruder) and they can clean the windows much faster.  From their perspective, they can also get closer to the windows which if the birds are bombing you, is a comforting feeling.

Isn't the window washer cleaning the windows where the Phanatic Christmas gathering was held? Is that the Peregrine Room? :-\ If it is, little wonder that Princess is supervising! ::) ;)

And the windows he's washing are the windows where there used to be executive offices, now they are part of an additional meeting room or two.  The Phanatics Mid-Winter Get-Together is actually held in the room below Princess

Air Quality Check, and oh what a check it was!

Princess on the ledge ( yes I got some pictures ).
All of a sudden she starts making very loud kissey-churpey noises. Take the camera away from my face and sure enough, here comes Ivy. He flies right over my head and turns east toward the river. Well the tart jumps off the ledge and follows him, I lose them for about a minute and then she's back - no sign of him. She beelines it for the ledge, lands on it, hops in and out of it for a bit and then flies off around the Kensington Blgd.

Wow!!
Neat.
