Just after 5pm today there was a falcon, thought to be a chick, on the Air Canada Bldg de-feathering a pigeon. My daughter, the downtown biz girl, was watching the feathers fly when all of a sudden the falcon dropped the pigeon to the ground quite close to her. She says it looks disgusting, almost every feather plucked, etc. It landed with quite the thud! Anyway just as it dropped another falcon, not sure if it was chick or adult flew over and the two of them looked down at this pigeon for quite a long time. As of right now at 8:00pm one falcon is still perched on the building and looking down at the pigeon.
Does Tracy or anyone know if a falcon would fly down to the ground to retrieve its prey? When will he/she give up and go catch something else?
