Oh, number 4 just woke up and is playing tug-of-war with the little piggy, who now seems smaller, so might be a boy, but then number 4 is closer to the cam so...

That must be our girl (can't see her jewellery, but she seems to have fewer dark feathers) who continues to pick away at that poor deceased long-legged bird.  The boys have turned their backs on her and are dozing. 8)

All the kids are close to the camera - well, now I can see only three.  One is still chowing down on a tasty morsel and the other two are just sitting and looking pretty for the camera!  Number 4 is sleeping - all you can see is a bit of fluff.

Great photos Dennis!

Incoming food.

Parent started to feed the chicks - but they took matters in to their own hands and grabbed the snack out of the talons of parent.    :o  It looked like a small bird.

They are really actively participating in meals! Yesterday evening they put on quite the performance (grabbing the last chunk of food from each other).

One chick is still picking at the snack - another is in the background figuring out wings. He/she discovered that if you have one foot up for a scratch and open both wings you quickly fall over.

It's 15 out now & overcast with a high of 25 and 40% chance of showers.

What great shots!  Reminds me of Monty Python, instead of a big foot, it could be tpc's hand reaching in to pick up a chick! Wonder what goes on in their mind when this happens ???

2025 hrs... "Red" sure is hogging the camera... getting great views of white fluff the past little while.  Just waiting for him to raise his butt and poop shoot the camera!

BTW, I enjoyed the too-short piece on the banding.  Ironic that it came on right after the hockey team story, which was longer of course :-X
