Our Queen Bea is looking rather lonely right now.  Looking out of the box as if to say "where did you guys go?"  Hope I can spot the two that took off.  Several of us are going down there shortly so we'll take a good look for them to see where they landed.

They probably flew down to the lower roof right next door so I wonder what you'll see if anything.  Except theres always a bit of concern that one or both went straight down to the street.  I'm just wondering if one flew off intentionally and the other got pushed a bit by that one and he wasn't really ready.  There was so much flapping at that moment that it all seemed so chaotic.

Yup two flew off straight out front, not from the sides so I'm pretty sure there was no jumping to the ledge.

Hi Irenekl,  I wish others would join in as well.  Apparently I missed all the excitement by just a couple of minutes.  Didn't turn my computer on until now.  How I wish I could have seen what you did!  It must have been heart-stopping, to say the least.  I just see two in the box.  Hope I see the other two when I get down there.

Are you sure they fledged?  I am going down to the Radisson in about an hour and will take a look around.

Well......this is very lonely :(  Where are ya'all??
There was complete pandimonium in the nest box with all 4 flapping and running and as I watched I thought for sure one looked ready to go.  With that TWO just flew off right in sync.  I'm kinda stunned :o
The dead calm that came over the other 2 left behind was kind of funny, it was instant halt.

And I sure wish one of you phanatics would wake up and share this with me!!  Get up!!

One of the parents brought food and Beatrix grabbed it and ran.  The boys didn't even attempt to take it away..........smart boys.  :)

...When they come back, its because they want to return, not because the box provides something they can't find anywhere else.
So what would make some chicks choose to want to return to the nestbox, TPC? ???

Don't think we'll every run out of questions, and the answers are always interesting. Bear with us, Tracy ;)

Familiarity, comfort, like coming home to visit your parents and you find your room is the way it was when you left ...  ;)  But seriously, its the place they are imprinted on - that's why so many of the Radisson birds come back, and Brandon birds come back and, and, and ...

:-* I know that fledge time is close and I want to thank you, Tracy, Dennis. Eye-spy, Dr Bob and the Peregrine Falcon Recovery Project for another year (not yet over) for all the answers to our inquiries about our falcons. Every question has been answered with great expertise. To all who have contributed with photos and videos, "WOW", you know who I am talking about. Hope the fledge goes well and no one has a thumb mistaken for a pigeon. Bccs and MsDoolittle, no "peeing" in the box. LOL ;D gcg
