Well it's been a LONG DAY...2 chicks, Fyfe (red tape) and Carson (white tape) have fledged at 5:35 this a.m.
Fyfe was located on a low roof top and is doing well, Carson has yet to be located. The search will continue !
This afternoon some rain showers came through and Fyfe had no nest box to take shelter in...perhaps if you hadn't been playing around with your brother this morning this wouldn't have happened ????
A couple of sneak peek photos have been added to the Radisson Gallery...this is Fyfe, alone on the roof top in the rain.
More photos will be added when ready.

1800h

Checked all the cams and hijacked the skycam - just two chicks at the nestsite - Beatrix and I'm assuming Cade as I haven't been able to see his band color.  No one else is around at the moment.  She's being a pain sitting right where Cade wants/needs to jump to to get back in the nestbox ...  ::)

I think that may be Cade on the ledge and Bea on the nest edge.

That's what I was thinking too. Ivy was there earlier, but he left a while ago.

Thanks susha and Rcf, I now took a closer look, the feathers are flying and because of the camera angle, one on the ledge looks larger than one on the nest edge. This is the only angle Beatrix will look slim and trim. Normal camera view, she is the size of an amazon.  ;D

I sure hope that Fyfe has had some supper by now ???  It's been a long day for him and he's likely pretty stressed by now, being alone for the first time since he hatched...

And I'll be so glad to hear how Carson is doing.  Hopefully, there will be a sign of him soon.  It's very reassuring to know that the parents know where he is, but they have no way of telling us if he's okay :P

I'm itching to get back downtown, but as KC said, "life gets in the way" and my chick needs some of my time this evening. I'll definitely be going again though!

Have I said yet that I'd strongly recommend that folks go downtown to do a little fledge-watching?  Wonderful people, these Peregrine enthusiasts.  And the birds speak for themselves.  If you love them on the cam, you'll be absolutely addicted once you see them in person! :-*
My husband is on his way downtown. Although he does not post, he is hooked. Thank you for the update. I hear sirens .

Correct me if I am wrong. I am beginning to think that the bird on the ledge is one who has found his way home.  ??? ???

My apologies for the late post after fledgewatching today. Had a few errands to do on the way home and then after logging on, had to read through the Radisson posts in order to report back any info to des and Jazz, who were still fledgewatching downtown. Then had to feed my 3 pets, who were chomping at the bit for their supper. ::) Sometimes real life gets in the way.  ;)

What an interesting way to spend 7 hours and how fast the time passed! :D I arrived in the downtown shortly after 7:00 AM, to be greeted by Dennis, Jazzerkins and des, on Portage Ave., across the street from the MTS Centre. Was able to see Fyfe, who had landed on a lower roof and was either standing still or walking around a bit, that is, until a handful of crows decided to surround him and harrass him. When that occured, one of the parents, although I'm not sure which one, came out of nowhere and began to swoop down, dive bombing at the crows, in order to scare them off and protect Fyfe. That was spectacular to see and Dennis snapped many photos. Can't wait to see them! :D

Shortly after that, susha joined us and we all went over to the parkade that TPC referred to in an earlier post, because Fyfe had moved further back on the lower roof and was no longer visible from Portage Ave. Then TPC joined us for awhile, giving us all some very sound advice, should we encounter a chick down on the ground level (which, thankfully, we didn't). :P So we spent the next few hours keeping an eye on Fyfe, with several of the fledgewatchers walking around, checking out various spots to see if they could locate Carson. But no such luck. :(

I will continue my report later as my husband is now waiting in the car for me... ;)

Hey!  There are two boys and a girl home.  Who returned?

I think one is Ivy, you can only see his back and tail in the nest box. :)
Ivy, take good care of your babies. This has been a stressful day for me. I can't imagine what this day has been like for the fledgewatchers.  ::)

:o I hope my eyes have deceived me, Cade was poking somebirdie and then the bird turned and flew (fledged)????
Do not know if it was Beatrix or one of the others. 1530h  Did anyone else catch it?  :o :o
False alarm, it was not Beatrix. I wonder who it was?????????

Pretty sure it was Ivy.  ;)

:-* Thanks again Rcf!
