Its a common site on all the birds, but you may not have seen it on the boys because there wasn't much wind or when there was, they may have been on the ledge/edge with their back to the cams.  We see it with the adults all the time ... they don't pay it any mind ...

Just noticing how long Bea's Breast feathers are as they blow in the breeze.  Were the other chicks the same.........I can't remember seeing their's blow like that.  May the females are different?

He can SuzyQ, whether he will or not is another question.  Some fledglings to return some years, others don't, once they are gone, they are gone.  They will remain in the territory for the next few weeks, but may or may not come back to the nestbox ...

And yes, it is a long way to go, but in wanting to get back they are improving their flilght skills with each additional hop!

Hmm, she should be fine by the weekend I think and considering how hot and humid it is suppose to be Thursday/Friday/Saturday, she might not have much inclination until after that.  She has been wingercizing but no made dash to want to go yet.  But she is by herself now and of course none of the boys have made it back yet to visit with her.  If one did, it could make her happier to stay or encourage her to go.  And while the boys ran along the edge long before they left, she may not, she may just jump when she's ready (or thinks she's ready)

Best answer I have for you ... but if I see her behaviour changing, I'll let everyone know!

My, my.........what a mess in that nest box.  Wings and more wings.............not to mention feathers and bones.  Can only imagine what it smells like in this heat and QUeen Bea is sleeping in the middle of it.  Home Sweet Home!

Posting to the Radisson thread for the first time, though I've been reading for a couple of years.  Thrilled to join you all......

Hope Bea stays put for a couple more days, and that Cade is able to re-join her?  Would it be possible for him to fly up that high again when he's just starting out?  Seems like a long way to have to go!

Going to use the skycam to see if I can see Cade on the Free Press building ... since the cam movement can make some folks ill (yes, I remember from last year  :D), I'll get it levelled out and then switch back ...

LOL! I'm home now and thanks for posting my update, susha. :-* Spent about 3 hours downtown, met des a little after 7:00 AM. Also bumped into msdolittle and Pam on the street, on their way to work. We saw Cade on the top of what looks to be a large, rectangular metal box on top of the old Free Press Bldg. He seemed to disappear behind the box around 8:30 AM or so and we haven't seen him since. We think he's just tucked in somewhere as we did not see him fly off. At one point, it looked as if he and Bea were looking at each other. 8)

When I left the downtown, shortly after 10:00 AM, 1 parent (maybe Princess?) was on the communications tower on top of the Radisson and the other parent (Ivy?) was on the Roger's Bldg., I think. It was getting pretty warm down on the street, so I can't even beggin to imagine how hot it must be, up where Bea is in the nestbox and Cade on the old Free Press Bldg.

Often when I check in this morning, Beatix is looking in the direction of her brother.  TPC has said that she and Cade can see each other quite well from their respective perches - he high up on the Free Press roof and she on the nestbox.  I find it so amazing that these critters stay so connected even when they're so far away from each other :o
