I always look up when at the MTS Centre bus stop - no sightings lately from there.  :-\

Guess we're really lucky to have Beatrix and Carson coming back occasionally. At this point, any sighting is great! So . . . did you see anyone come home last night, TPC?

No one at the box in the pre-dawn so think the kids slept elsewhere last night.  First bird in the box today was Ivy screaming his little heart out but no sign of Princess.  That was about 1130h.  Next was Carson, about 1645h, he popped in and out until just before 1900h when Beatrix arrived and was by herself until about 20 minutes ago when Carson returned ...

Doesn't sound as if you have seen Cade return to the nestbox very much lately, TPC. Am I right about that? :-\

Everyone was at the nestbox on the 4th when Ivy dropped off food.  They don't need the food much now based on how little they actually ate of it, Princess turned up a bit later and took off with the nice size leftover.  The chicks are a month flying so they will be starting to hunt on their own at this point, will need some supplementing from the adults but they are well on their way at this point to be totally self-sufficient.

Remember, Hurricane, Trey, Alley (Lincoln, Nebraska), Radisson (Edmonton), T2 (Brandon) among a long line of others were not big visitors to their nestsites once they fledged either ...

Two birdies in the nestbox when I was downtown this aft (probably about 1:00 - 1:30) one on either side, looking like sentinels.  :)

It was Beatrix and Carson ... she didn't want to share the feathers and bones in the back of the box  :P and he was nipping on her tail and toes when she was on the box.  They stayed there for a couple of hours together before taking off.  Just after 2100h someone came back but it doesn't look like they stayed the night.

I was driving thru downtown today and of cours when I want a red light so I can look around I get all green lights.  I tried looking up while driving but it didnt' work.   So I saw no birds.  I guess I could have parked somewhere and look but I just wanted to get home.

Thanks for the report TPC!  You really have a great way of describing events in the nestbox.
We can't see it, but we sure can picture it!

1230h

Beatrix is back, perhaps waiting for lunch?  She's been playing with flies on the edge of the nestbox and watching out for a delivery ... inside then outside then inside then outside (think kid opening and closing the fridge door because the first time there wasn't anything interesting to eat) and now on the box edge looking around ... and now she's off the box (1240h) ...
