This is bittersweet for those of us away.
With the last one stepping off into flight, there is only a view of the empty ledge and nest box and the hope of an occasional visit home. 
How exciting for you Winnipeggers to look forward to flying displays, as the young play with each other and their parents, while learning the skills needed before migration.

I just got back from downtown. Scanned everything I could from the ground with binoculars but didn't see any birds. Guess they are smarter than I am cause it was really hot...

Usually, no news is good news. Isn't that what TPC said about Carson and he's fine, last I heard. I would imagine if Beatrix landed on the ground she would have been located by now.

Hi Cathy!  Welcome to the forum.  The birds typically stay tucked in somewhere cool during the heat of the day.  We likely won't be seeing anybody until the evening, when the temperature cools as there are many nooks and crannies for our smart feathered friends to hide in and under :)

I agree Ellie!  This was the first time I've been able to actually see one of the fledglings take off and it was great - thanks rcf!  Bea looked ready and her smooth take-off showed that she was prepared.  Of course, I add my voice to the concerns for her whereabouts and none of us will rest easy until we know that each kid is safe and flying well.  TPC says that it'll take about 10 days for that to happen :P.  In the meantime, I think it's awesome that there are so many folks out there who care about the birds :)

Any word about where any of the birds are? Bea? Cade? I know they tend to be out of sight once they're on rooftops, but it would be great if someone spots one of them. I see nobody has come back to the nestbox so hope they've found a nice cool place to hide out for the heat of the day.

You are putting transmitters on your falcons. I did  not know this. We just removed ours from our falocns .

throws off their timing. they kept coming back late from migration.

Hope Bea has had a smooth landing :-* :-*
