Interesting - it's feeding time for the Radisson triplets, and it's also feeding time at the Great River cam!  Princess is blocking the view, so I'm watching the other cam.  I just think it's fascinating that both nests had the same feeding time. :D

I too would like to add my thanks to everyone who kept posting each little event as the day went on. I discovered that I can, in fact, read the blog at work and, altho I couldn't see anything, I didn't feel like I missed much other than the visual.  In short, I felt like I was watching too!  It made the day much easier to get through.  Thanks again.

And, the "egg timer" comment and the email notice from the "boss" had me laughing out loud at my desk!
;D ;D ;D

Now that the chicks have hatched and Trey and Princess seemed to have moved "down" a bit, is it possible to move the camera - or (assuming that is hard because of its location) zoom out a teeny bit?

I know we ask the moon and the stars! ;D

thats little Trey on there.  I don't know why he is so wound up today.  he has had kids before.

Ooops!  I guess I assumed it was her, since I didn't see the switch.

Do worries, the chicks are fine and it only looks like stomping because their feet are so big!  They used to be called the "Great-footed Hawk" - Audubon sure knew how to name 'em  ::)  Actually their feet can practically cover one of the chicks at this age!

And the chicks are fine, less stomping than walking on tip-talons.  And the talons are curved inward so think, upside-down basket rather than raptor (dinosaur) talons.

Okay, whew.  Good to know!

Just got a looooong look at the three little fluffballs alone all piled in a heap.  Very cute.

Hi skygirl.
with all the drama this year I was so glad to see the hatch. I had not seen a female help the little one out before. It was so neat to see the little legs  and bottom.

what a great day!!!! :) :)

For those of you wondering what it is that is giving both Princess and Trey whiplash while they are sitting on the chicks ... its flies.  The winged buzzy kind that are attracted to trash, the kind in your backyard.  You will frequently see both Princess and Trey snapping and chasing them down.  Eating them too.  When the chicks get older and bored they will go for them too.

Just checking in.  Princess is on the chicks now. Great stuff. I am going to learn how to put the time on pictures so they should be better
Would you like them cropped?

Hey Bev, you don't actually have to put the date/time ON the photo, just included with the photo.  I tend to use dates & times for file names (ie, 08-05-28-1637) so that I can easily sort the files.  You should also check out the FAQ section and the How Do I section of this board, I don't really want to have hardware/technical discussions on the non-technical threads.  Looking forward to seeing your screen captures!

Was Trey like this last year Tracy?  He cant or wont stay with the chicks very long. They just switched again.

Trey's always like this at this time of the year.  He's pretty maternal but doesn't get to sit with the kids much so when he does he's always trying to do everything - clean, tuck the kids in bed, look pretty for his sweetie  ... hmmm, sounds like most Moms  8) .

As for not staying with the chicks, its warm enough outside that he doesn't have to.  Now that they have hatched they don't need to be "baked" anymore, they are done.  Now its just a case of keeping them warm/cool and dry until they can thermoregulate on their own.  Sorry, that makes it sound easy and it isn't, there is actually where the hard work begins.  Incubation was long and boring for them, now its more difficult and labour intensive.
