Photos from today are now posted on the April Photo Gallery

They look best (I think) as a slideshow ....

Your descriptions of the activities are great, TPC.  Thank you!
What she said ;)
Can't wait to see her 'Highness' ourselves, your descriptions are great TPC!   ;D
And what bc bird said
And if some gust of wind blew up my tail feathers, I might react a bit more strongly than the queen. :o

1730 hrs (local) - think Her Majesty is getting hungry ... 'tis that time of the day and she's been dozing with her head facing the wall then all of a sudden she whips her head around as though to say "is that him?".  It hasn't been so far, but I believe a shift change has got to be imminent.    She's not talking so it doesn't seem as though Himself is just out of camera range.

She's been keeping her tail to the north close to the ledge wall as it is strong enough to blow her off the eggs.  She did a little "shuggleling" a couple of minutes ago and the tail when to the south and she got a gust of wind up her tail feathers which didn't really pull her off the eggs, just tipped her a bit before she shuffled her tail back to the northeast.  Not more than a second and she was back down and settled.  Didn't even get much of a look at more than just the front egg.  Still don't know how many there are under there  :'(

1600 hrs (local) - The wind is swirling more around the building now, we are suppose to get a direction change tonight/tomorrow so perhaps this is come a bit early.  Doesn't seem to be causing much concern, looks like Princess with her face in the gravel against the wall of the Hotel and her tail feathers tucked up against the outside wall.  Tail/end of wing feathers rather than body feathers getting blown about but I think its bothering the cam (and as a consequence me) more than it is her.

I'm still trying to get all the details of the nest tray installation worked out in the short window of time I have available.  Not quite there yet but there will come a point where it will probably be too late, but we aren't there yet so will keep you all informed on the progress as I have it ...

Great to know TPC.

I guess they used to nest on cliffs so this should be O.K. especially with the tray  you are going to put up.
I mentioned that to the biologist I was with on Sunday and he thought that was a great idea :) :)
I was giving him the history of Radisson.

1425 hrs (local) - we have quite a bit of wind here this afternoon, its warm but strong.  Fortunately it appears on the cam as though (finally) the Hotel is helping to block the wind reaching the nest ledge.  I'm watching Trey tucked down on the eggs (no final number yet) and I can't see even one feather being blown around and even the cam is steady.  I do know its blowing though because I can see the trees outside my window getting blow quite vigourously.  He picks his head up ever couple of minutes but mostly he doesn't bother to open his eyes.

I should mention that this is the first time that I can see heat ripples in the air when the sun isn't shining directly on the ledge - or at least so far this year.  It is warmer outside today (15C now, high 17C), though we are suppose to get rain overnight and tomorrow morning, not large amounts (technical term = light rain) but the temperatures are suppose to drop some for tomorrow (4C).  Friday, Saturday & Sunday are more seasonal and try, next week above (in some cases way above) seasonal with again some light rain mid-next week - but its a long-range forecast so don't get too excited.  All in all (knock on wood) pretty decent weather for this time of the year and for peregrine nesting.

0900 hrs (local) - Princess is on the eggs, its not sunny here but its bright enough on the ledge.  There is some wind but she's only getting a little fluffed on her left side as she is tucked up against the wall facing the camera.  She's half-snoozin' - both eyes closed but head up, then one eye open and she's looking around, then both eyes closed head down, then up, then both eyes open, one eye closed, both eyes closed then head tucked back down again.

Pretty quiet all in all ...

(off to a meeting, will post an update later)

TPC, I don't know where to post this, but I'm sure you'll work your magic,
I've been watching the Hornby Island Eagles. They just did a trade off, mum for dad. And this dad is a knockoff of Trey. ;D He has been housecleaning for the last 5 minutes, and hasn't paid too much attention to the chicklets.
I think he and Trey should set up a business together, " You mess it, I clean it "
This is a great place to visit. Man, the guy must have ocd ::)

It isn't unusual for housekeeping by either parent and he isn't unaware of the chicks, they just don't need anything right now.  Cleaning is the priority.  And I'll move this over in a bit to our "other webcams" thread ...

lol you make ocd sound like a bad thing. I suffer with it also to one degree or another. Go Trey go! LOL .

Sometimes I wish I did too. Then I wouldn't spend hours straightening up one day a week ::) ;D
