1357 hrs (local) - shift change, Trey is on the eggs.  And yes, still all eggs and I can't see any pips et al.  He's tucked down lower on the eggs as the wind is still blowing, but they seem much more protected than the cam which is getting blown a bit.  The wind is still southwest, so not surprising, its will be blowing right across the corner of the building where the cam is located so I'm capturing images between gusts.  Actually, Himself is completely ignoring the rigging and his nead is nodding off as I type.    Oops got a wee bit fluffed there as a big gust blew through ...

Two o'clock and all is well ...

Hi Ballywing. The weather forcast looks good but..... Ya never know. It's all in the hands of TPC now, her call. But I have an inkling that it may be then. I'm doing my grocery shopping right after work instead of tomorrow.

So I guess I'm to bring a picnic basket. May even some smoked oysters and a tasteful little wine/champagne for when the deed is done. ;D

1220 hrs (local) - the winds are shifting, they are now SW (30 gusting to 40) but it means the cam is bouncing a little less which is nice.  Still suppose to shift some more this afternoon, all the way to the NW but it looks like we are almost as gusty as we are going to get - the forcast is for 30 gusting to 50 for this afternoon.    Going to stay that way apparently until about midnight when it will drop to light (usually 15km/h or less) and much calmer for tomorrow.  Current temp is 16.4c so almost at the forecast high for the day.

I can almost hear our collective gasp when we get to finally see what's happening. Every post seems to accelerate things.

Good luck with the tray installation. Here's hoping for calm winds.

Just a last mention, I don't post as often as the regulars but I do love reading everything and I so appreciate the tone of this forum. This is a collection of people who really love nature and animals.

Just a note to those of you working downtown, yes, we are setting up equipment to access the nest ledge for the nest-tray at the momnet but no, we aren't slated to go up today.  It takes a lot of time to get all the rigging in place and the winds are a bit high today to actually go up so we do the setup today and wait for a suitable time to go up.

And Princess is keeping an eye on the proceedings but she's still on the eggs and shows no sign of getting off them or being in distress, just paying attention.  It also helps that the crew are on the roof (which is a long way away) and she can't see them so she doesn't actually perceive them as a threat, just something going on.  She's been through this kind of thing before - last year, the Hotel was doing work on the Radisson sign and there were lots of lines hanging over her and the ledge for more than a month as I recall.  Both Trey and Princess are very tolerant (for peregrines) of human activity and they are experienced parents.  But I'm still watching over them and the weather is good - warm, sunny and dry - that if she decides she needs to take a closer look for a couple of minutes, the eggs won't take harm from the lack of an incubating adult.  And if they are starting to hatch, Mom's not leaving them, so no worries there either.
