One of the chicks has decided to go exploring in the corner of the ledge. Soon we may need and even wider view.  ::)

Among my favourite moments - each (sunny) Winnipeg morning - is when the first rays of sun sneak over the nest ledge and touch the peregrines' feathers and down. They all seem so vibrant in the golden light. Princess often turns her head to face the sun and now that the chicks are older, and we have a wider view of the ledge, she sat very serenely on the eastern ledge seemingly to warm herself.

Great to have an early watcher. Thanks for the report Three.  That explains why the chicks didn't seem to be very interested in second breakfast.  ;D

With the time differential I typically get to see the pre-dawn antics on the ledge. When I logged in this morning Princess and the chicks were still asleep, though it did not last long. One of the babes awoke and was squirming and soon woke up the others. When the first breakfast appeared it took a while for the two groggiest chicks to realize what was happening, but they soon got in on the action. Since then Princess has been on and off the ledge (visible area anyway), preening, poop shooting, and second breakfast, and now another chick pile. Mmmmmm full bellies.

Have a good day all.

Early morning hours at "Feathering Heights" and - well early for most City Dwellers - and another day of Peregrine Obsession.  It looks like Dad is trying to provide some doting on the young ones, but there is not enough room under him for - no, wait a minute, the parent is sitting on the ledge and I think it is Momma.  The chicks are pressed against the wall and wondering when another huge meal is coming.  The anxiety will heighten, again when they begin exploring closer to the ledge.  Will the tuppernest be taken away anytime soon?

A small breakfast has just been delivered.  Only two of the chicks appear to be the least bit interested. The third one seems to be more interested in preening so perhaps they had a big meal earlier on. Now they are lurching back into a chick pile. :D

The chick pile is stirring. The chicks are restless however the adult perched on the edge of the ledge is just ignoring them so they have decided to collapse in a huddle again. If we aren't going to eat we might as well nap.  :D

5:56 am and 3 wiggly chicks and mom all together on the ledge where I left them when I logged last night.  MOm is tucking them under her but one keeps squirming and making the rest squirm  :-*
