Isn't that Trey on the ledge?  He seems to be watching something intently down below.

Hey folks, spoke with Deb a bit ago and she has had to head off to real life so don't know if anyone is on the ground with the birds .... if you are or are going to, please send me a pm!  I know Allikat is on duty tonight and it would be great for her to have some company and unfortunately I can't be there unless is for a pick-up this evening.  If you have an hour to spare this evening, Allikat will be the one with the binoculars hanging around looking at ab building that doesn't "do" anything  :D

When I spoke with Deb, our little female didn't show any signs of wanting/needing/desiring to fly and is still parked on the nestbox on the roof.  That is not unusual with some birds, particularly females.  They take their flight then decide they are going to think about it for a day or two.  In her case, she has a great view, lots of room, and cover to retreat into if the weather turns bad.

Anyone else going to be downtown this evening?  I'll be there watching...mostly our Little Miss to make sure she stays put.

Sent a reply to what is MTS and it went into the ozone somewhere.  It is our Arena in the downtown area with Manitoba Telecom services having the naming rights for it,

Finally I was able to view the CBC news clip of yesterday's falcon pickup.

Loved the expression on Tracy's face as she rounded the corner and swooped down on the grounded Little Miss.  She made it look like a routine day of work as she stuffed all of that big body and wings in the bucket.

Amazing that CBC was there so quickly for that bit of breaking news.  More great publicity for the project!

If any one is in the downtown area, a drop in vist to the ground crew would be greatly appreciated. Gets a little lonely at times, and a little stressful if there is only one watcher. The kids are all over the place now and ya can't look in all places at once. The focus is on our girl, but it's nice to know where the boys are too.
FYI, the watchers spots are right in front of the MTS Centre, or on the north side of Portage, directly across from the MTS Centre. Mid block for both.

Thanks for all the updates.  bccs you must have the falcon "God" watching over you to have the experience of seeing now 2 of the birds up close.  Maybe a should start checking the air quality as well. LOL.

I was downdown around 1:30 this afternoon and saw lit'sis flapping her wings a bit.  At least I think it was her on the top of the wooden nest.  Couldn't see any other of the birds, however I was not around long.  Really good to hear that all is well.

But it's such a great term -- sounds almost authentic -- how could she resist???  ;)

the smokers around here use it to 'justify' their many breaks in the great outdoors.. lol

Gotta give the ground crew a ton of credit. They're the one's braving the elements, getting sore necks and giving me the information so I can sit in my air conditioned office and type reports to y'all. Thanks guys :-*
