So now it's snowing like crazy again. Come on, it's not even Thanksgiving yet. Keep this up and the kiddies are going to have a cold and trecherous Halloween. :(

Vesper or Princess Pam??
Now the snow has become lighter and it's melting as it hits the ground. Going to make for icy streets in the morning >:(

Ok now. About 20 minutes ago I saw a large bird flying soooo fast by my balcony. I said to myself, naw, can't be. Well, just happened again, and yup, one of ours. No idea who, but judging by size either Trey or one of the boys. ;D ;D

I am so out of the loop. been gone too long but I am glad you are seeing a juvenile.

We had snow yesterday as well.
We had our 2 adult females until Wednesday night but we could not find them at all yesterday.
I think the chill finally has them packing and I am sure Vesper will not be long behind.
but as TPC says if she stays, she can hunt and there is lots of food.

Froona stayed around for a long time and becasue I am not there all the time she could have still been around for all I know.
Nice shots Pam.
What is this about Virden??????

Yup, that's our girl!  Maybe she will migrate, or maybe she will be Madame#2!!

I guess ya'll will just have to wait and see what becomes of Vesper.
Oh Virden is gonna be fun. . . . :P

As for migrating, she's hardwired to go and she'll go.  Or she'll start channelling her gramma Madame and hang out all winter.  Either way, she knows how to hunt and will do fine.  May be that the cold snap is making her edgy and she's going to all her haunts before leaving ...

Thanks, TPC, I'm reassured.

Allikat, do you remember when you, Tracy & I were watching from the parking lot - Vesper was making attempt after attempt to land on the towers on top of the Rogers bldg - she looked just as lost today!
I sure do Pam....We yelled out a couple of "Oh's" when she was trying....she sure is stubborn, kinda like Mom  ::)
I also remember her trying to land on Princess' favorite perch, on a very windy day, at the top of Radisson Hotel.
Again, she tried and tried and tried...no success.  That's our girl! ;D

I hate to hear that she's looking lost on her own  :'(

She reminds me of our Elena this year, she hung out with mom long after the boys left and kept coming back.  I know they are fine but the 'mom' in me wants to protect them  :-\

I'm glad you are there to keep an eye on her Pam, keep us posted.

Thanks, Tracy....I've certainly blown my identifications in past (well, except for Princess last spring!).

She appears to be eating something when she is on top of the R, have seen that a couple of times this week, so she must be hunting successfully.

I have no doubt that is Vesper Pam, you are good at judging identies by size and Vesper will be Princess' size or close.  As for migrating, she's hardwired to go and she'll go.  Or she'll start channelling her gramma Madame and hang out all winter.  Either way, she knows how to hunt and will do fine.  May be that the cold snap is making her edgy and she's going to all her haunts before leaving ...
