In case you didn't see the most recent Oak Hammock Marsh stuff - check their web site and you will see other good stuff AND THAT

"Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre will be joining us with wildlife ambassadors, including a Peregrine Falcon. At 2 p.m. on Sunday September 26, a special presentation by Tracy Maconachie, Project Coordinator of Manitoba's Peregrine Falcon Recovery Project, will offer some insights on the status of Peregrine Falcons in the province."

About 2:30ish, somebirdy on the second R on the Rogers building east side. I was craning my neck from below so didn't have the best view, but looked dark and smallish, so I thought one of the kids. But then I saw Princess (I think - one minute there and the next minute out of sight) on the ledge over from the nest box ledge on the Radisson. So maybe the bird on the Rogers was Ivy. I've seen the parents stare across the way at each other many a time.   8)

Going through downtown between 2:30-3:00 and there was a falcon sitting on the edge of the west nest. Tall & proud.
I thought so, irenekl, but didn't have my trusty binocs with me in the car. They were in the trunk! ::)  :P Thanks for confirming what I thought I was observing yesterday afternoon! :D

Had an appt. downtown late this afternoon. From my car, driving east, thought I could see a bird sitting on the ledge next to the west nestbox. Maybe, maybe not?  :-\

Nobird showing themselves around 3:30 this aft.  :(  Mind you I didn't check the Radisson east side. Wind's a bit nippy today and my ears were getting cold, so did the short circuit.

Thanks Cooper.
Nope, didn't bring them with me, I don't think that they and the bunnies would get along very well ;D

Nope. Nobody in their usual spots when I came into work this morning. Didn't see them all weekend either. Was thinking you took them with you.  ;)

I'll go out for an amble important chore this afternoon and see if I can spot anyone.

Coming home from work a half hour ago, I got caught squinting through the walkway at the MTS Centre by a young couple.  I looked a little odd I suppose looking at the Hydro Building, but thankfully there was a parent sitting on the Logo of the Manitoba Hydro ... so i just looked at them, pointed and said .. birds.

The I told the guy it was a peregrine falcon and pointed to the logo.  He was very excited to hear about the peregrines in downtown Winnipeg.  Younger fella, not from Winnipeg originally but he said he had presented a paper, not wrote it, on Peregrines.  He was looking forward to telling his "bird friends" who he thinks must already know.

As we were talking the Parent flew off the logo and headed north.

Excellent, ms.d.! :D

It's likely that you made that guy's day, MsD, and as well, secured a new fan for the Radisson family.
