they are working on stack where nest box is so she is distracted a bit but it looks O.K.  and other thing look good also

At about 9:26am the TR male brought in an offering and she came behind him. she left and then he left with bird

she is now on eggs

so yesterday afternoon the biologists went out to site and repalced the eggs of female with artificial eggs.

What has happened is that the female here has laid 3 eggs with the unbanded male. The last one was probably laid on Saturday or Sunday. Cam was down on weekend so we are not sure.  And just before biologists arrived , she laid number 4 ;D

The resident male ,with Transmitter, just came back from migration on Monday morning.  There has been lots of action. It appears the resident male has taken his site back.  but last year when this happened , they lost a whole clutch of eggs .

the resident male has been courting the female(who he  has spent other seasons with) but it  appeared she was too busy incubating. Tuesday night he presented her with a gift , but he has not shown interest in incubating as yet. and  they were afraid she may abandon the eggs  , or spend too much time away from them,if she had to feed herself. to make sure this clutch is not lost , the biologists took the eggs and replaced them with dummy eggs. The eggs will be incubated  and they will see what plays out here.

If they become a team then eggs will probably be replaced.  Wait and see

A slideshow with a bit of yesterday and some of this morning -

TR male brought in a gift of wing last night which was a good sign.  And today egg #4. I think it must be other males though.  I will share rest of day later. Very important

this slideshow is from yesterday morning when TR male came in . When female left he stayed  and when he left she came right back.

Here is a slideshow when the unbanded male came in on the evening of May2. I did not get him incubating on camera but he did incubate for awhile and then he got up , I think TR male was around then and he looked nervous. He went back in box and lay behind his eggs.
this is last time I saw him on cam but I am sure he is not far away.
