They are either crows or ravens, that's all I can say lol  Omg Carly you have such a wonderful sense of humor. Yes Bev, get your hard hat out and big broom!

Maybe Bev and someone there will have something up their sleeves to drive the Ravens out of there so the falcons can nest ther  :-\

I was afraid of that, I vote we send Bev a hard hat and a really, big broom just in case they need a hand  ;)

I think that as long as there are only two of them...the falcons can defend their nest if they decide to nest here again.  However, if there are more, they will attack as a group and then it becomes dangerous for the falcon who is fighting for the territory!!!  Let's all hope the Ravens leave before the falcons come back as they may have decided this is their nest now  >:(

Oh my god, those are huge???  What the heck do you all feed those birds out there!!!

Well, there were all those leftovers in the nest! These birds are huge - maybe they are ravens. I thought crows because I've seen crows here before.

They came back again, and they had food from somewhere.

They give me the willies....the first thing that popped into my head was Alfred Hitcock's 'The Birds'!

Those look like huge crows.  And the nestbox looks almost pristine.  I wonder if the crows cleaned it out or if they had a little help from humans. ::)  Either way it looks ready to go for 2009  ;D

I don't know if Bev is aware of this, but today two of the Edmonton cams are back online. No peregrines yet, but a couple of crows visited. It's a start . . .

Hi Bev!
Please don't stress about that slide show.  It was a very special gift you gave to us of your time as you shared your observations of the UofA site.  Your story with photos of Cassie and Hope as they fledged and continued to thrive was incredible.  Some day you may make more of it, but please don't put time pressure on yourself.

Very well said, bcbird! I too really enjoyed watching the progress of Cassie and Hope last year, thanks to Bev's dedicated coverage. It was almost like being there.

I agree.  You put SO much work into it last year, so we all felt like we were there too.  AS nice as they would be to see, I'd rather you saved your energy for this year!  lol  Seriously, just do it a your leisure.

Welcome back Bev, we have missed you  :D!  I was thinking about your peregrines when we learned the Winnepeg pair might be back.  I hope there is no drama at your site this year either and everyone makes it back safe and sound.
