thanks for that update Bev.

I feel for you right now...I'm and I'm sure everyone else is thinkin' the same thing if one falcon returns before the other and just flies in to check out the nest...two against one.  I know nothing has happened yet and slow down but it's just getting closer to the E.T.A. of the falcon (s).
I just hope that the Ravens will find another great location to make a nest without any worry so they can build freely and raise their family.

Ditto.  After reading about what is going on at the NL site, I'm thinking the exact same thing.
It's surreal in a way!!  Most of the time, actually the majority of the time, I want to put my hand through the computer screen, reach out and grab whatever is there to help them...but I can't!!! :(

Thanks for the great update bev, as always.   :D

I really hope they go in tomorrow and dismantle it again.  No point in waiting - it might make it too late for them to re-nest somewhere else.

I have just come back form the site. was there for a few hours this afternoon.
No sign of falcons but these guys are huge.

I watched them and took some pictures.  the female is getting all the sticks and the male stands guard across at the hospital building and the roof behind.

the big white thing the workers used yesterday is still beside the nest on the right side , which would make it easy to access the nest.

My concerns now are:  I love my falcons but if the female comes back and goes to the nest box gung ho , she could be attacked from behind by the male raven. I watched for quite awhile today so she will not see him
Same goes if our male comes back first. Now most years one comes back before the other so it will be 2 against one and these guys are Huge

Now having said all that you do have to feel for these guys also, but  there are so many spots  for them to renest.

So as I take a deep breath , I hope my guys get here soon.

I did check out 2 other sites where our peregrines roost in Edmonton and they are not back either .

I am going to go into my archives now and see when they arrived 2007 and before. I know last year..

I thought that the same thing...working double time I mean!
I don't like this scenario at all now!!!
I don't want any harm done...seems to me that they are in a hurry!!!
This is a tough situation to be in...I don't know if I can watch now!

Oh they are perserverant alright, man oh man.

I wonder if she is 'with egg' already because they are working twice as fast as last time.

I gotta give 'em credit for their perseverance, tho.

I can't decide whether to feel sorry for the Ravens,  :(....or to want them the heck outta there asap......so I'm just going to do BOTH!!!! :P - I just wish they'd stop working so hard on a lost cause and start afresh somewhere else, poor things. Hope Radisson comes back quick!!
It's okay ballywing...I can't decide either!!  All they are trying to do is make a nest to lay eggs and raise their young!  I'm with you...I just wish they could do all of this somewhere else and all can be happy!
