I just want to add Tracy, that they do tolerate each other nesting very close and there are a lot of spots for the ravens. I have walked in the last year every square inch of that place . there are a lot of crows and magpies and ravens around.  I can think of a few spots already if they have time.

I do feel bad, but may I say again that this nest would not have been taken if there had been eggs.  but she is ready soon,  . I will be going down to the site today or tomorrow.
I will have a good look around.

Now come on home peregrines.

Whew, what an afternoon to catch up on!
Just looked at cam 3 and had a flash of nostalgia remembering shots of Cassie peeking up barely above the ledge.

First I should say that there didn't appear to be any eggs in the nest when I last saw it and the finer nest material hadn't been in there for very long, so I don't think y'all need to worry about that.

If the ravens can't find something close by to fix up, they will start again.  The question is just where for them.

Keep in mind also folks that nests get blown out of trees and off buildings and cliffs all the time, so its not as though these birds haven't/won't face this in their lives.  And they do get evicted by other birds, so this will be a good learning (character-building  ) experience for them.

You got that right, Raven on nestbox with nesting materials!  Poor guy looked confused and left.  I know how you feel Bev, no need to explain, we all care about the birds regardless of the type.

I know there will be many who do not approve of this move.  There will probably be an explanation. If there had been eggs they would not have removed the nest.  These biologists have high standards. This site has always been one where they did many things such as bringing in the fledgling last year.

And I am sure if they thought this could end in a good way , nothing would have been done. By this I mean a good way for the ravens.  Do the studies and read all the information.

I almost feel guilty even though I wanted them gone.   What a sap I am. but think about if ravens started to nest in your nest box. ??

The cam is working, all 3 and the nest has been cleared. For those of you who aren't fans of raven, lol

Maybe evict.  Guess it depends on whether or not they want to evict if there is an egg in the nest or not.  Don't know what their ethical criteria are ... and Eagle is right, time will tell ....

Just had a look at the cams, and it looks like they have taken them offline (there looks to be just a static image there now from earlier) while the biologists are at the nestbox ....

... or maybe its just me ...

Sounds like George and Weezie ( yes i named them, sorry Raven-haters)  are enjoying their 'deee-lux' apartment in the sky.. moving on up never looked so good.
Hope this all works out for them, and everyone else at the site.
