Yeah the egg makes the difference between fighting and just leaving and they ain't leaving without a fight so it seems.

I guess that was possible before, but now that eggs are laid, they're not going to up stakes without a fight :-\

No no Eagle...just wasn't sure is all.
We are all hoping for the best scenario...no bird gets injured or killed, and that George & Weezie realize that they are not in a good situation and/or position here.

I think we just all assume that our falcons are invincible..but they are like any other bird..some days, it's just not your day.

If anyone got the impression from me that they could kill Ravens easily, that's not what I meant. I meant that they wouldn't be impossible because Falcons have speed on their side.  The best scenerio would be for George and Weezie to realize that they have all the odds stacked against them with two falcons eyeballing them and to just leave. However, nature being what it is, time will tell just what will happen.

I don't think they can take them as easily as other birds as Ravens can also fly upside down quite well.  In this case though we have 2 falcons who are  tag teaming him so it may be a matter of wearing him down as Weezie is otherwise occupied.  He's already survived 1 day of attacks so he's no dummy.

That being said, George and Weezie may just decide it's not worth it and after a day or two of this - they may voluntarily move on.  Ravens are quite intelligent so they may conclude - not worth dying for..that's what I'm hoping.
That's exactly what I'm hoping for too.  Let's hope they make that decision.  They can have vocal arguments all they want, but let's hope only good things come out of this.

I really didn't want this to happen at all..I guess I should correct that, ALL of us didn't!

Now it's up to nature and I hope there are no injuries or death's.

I didn't realize that a falcon could take a raven that easily  :-[

I just hope they are all careful with this situation and it just boils down to vocal arguments....

George on the outside rung, Weezie has been screaming alot..not sure if the falcons are buzzing or if she's laying another egg...george in the box now.  Something is definitely going on. :o

Uh..oh..weezie is yelling, beak wide open.  You are correct Eli, 2 falcons will definitely eventually get him unless he is clever.  She is in the middle of egg laying so she is vulnerable otherise she might be out there with him.  *sigh* well we expected this didn't we.  ???

Whether we like it or not, nature will now settle things.

I see that the male raven just escorted the female back to the nestbox, then he left, but not before what looked like a very vocal argument with one, or both, falcons.  I think for him to survive being attacked while flying to another building, he is going to have to be very clever, especially as he almost got killed yesterday.  I can't see the female raven laying any more eggs with all this conflict going on around her.  I don't think there is any chance of them keeping the nest box, but I sure hope they can both escape being killed.

We are away until tomorrow evening, Happy Easter everyone,
Hopefully things go better at this nest
Perhaps George has found Weezie a new penthouse
Unfortunate about the egg though.

She is in and out of the box a lot, maybe she sees something that we don't see.
