Well the fact tht he showed up about 8 or 9 days afterwards is what is making me wonder...I mean I don't know how he would have survived as he didn't know how to hunt but TPC did say it does happen.  May just be from the downtown site but as he's come back again to chase the parents..it makes me wonder...
Me too.....it would be nice, as you commented, if band numbers could be read.  Except, not sure how that would happen unless this "intruder" landed on the nestbox.  And I'm pretty sure that won't be allowed....but it certainly does make me wonder as well as this is the second time a juvie has flown into the area.

It does make one wonder doesn't it...is it wishful thinking that it could be Mr. White?  Perhaps, but not out of the question.
TPC has written that sometimes juvies just leave and then all of a sudden show up with a mate and chicks, well I think that's what she wrote....she will correct me.   ;D

I can't help but wonder if it's not Mr White come home.... :-\  Any way to get his bands?  If they'd let the kids get near him/her..then we'd know cause they'd remember...

Just a quick report  before I go out.
I as down at the site today and spotted all 5.
the kids were putting on quite a display and then there were 6.
the juvenile from last week, I think, entered the air space again.
I must say the adults gathered their crew again. Frona was put on the Ed building and the 2 boys ,on Newton place. Then mom and dad proceeded to chase the juvenile out of the area to the north west.
Not sure who this is and you could hear it cacking. so is it a juvenile from downtown wandering in or what???

At least it was not 2 adults again.

It just amazes me how the  parents gather the kids out of harms way. You have to see it to believe it.

when I left the 2 boys were on college plaza eating and Frona was on Newton place. she did fly over there but not enough room for her there so she went back to newton place .  I took some picutres so in the next few days they will be posted , day by day ;) ;)

Real kife is calling me so I must get going.
BEcky and her DAve are a real treat to have on board.

Terrific report Becky M.  It is a wonderful thing to see those beauties doing their aerobatics.  Lucky you that you don't even have to go looking for them and they come to you.   :o

Pssst. hope the prof doesn't catch ya slackin' off, Um, I mean, watching the kids  ;)

BeckyM, I am envious of your view of the falcon kids!  What a treat to watch them from your office window.

So, I am a graduate student at the U of A, and can get a pretty good view of the Education building and Newton Place from my floor to try and find our friends during the day. Today however, the 3 decided to come and find me by doing an elaborate 3-way arial show just west of the Education building in direct sight from my lab desk! Needless to say, i stopped doing any work for about 5 minutes to watch circling, diving, talon-touching, and quick speed changes from our 3 chicks. They are becoming such good fliers, and while I cant tell the boys apart, Froona is quite obvious with her size advantage. Didnt see anyone picking on her today, she was certainly "on top" for much of the show! When I go have lunch, Im going to have to go try and find them :)

Excellant reporting Bev, and nothing to apologize for, we all know your first priority is the falcons which is should be.  Good to know that the younger generation, your grandchildren I am assuming are getting to know the importance of the falcons too!
