"There are 2 males and 1 female. Students from Vandenberg Middle School, Elk River, Minn. named the eyasses "Chase", "Bullet" and "Lightening."

Should we assume that's "respectively" and the girl is Lightening?

Yes, nice mohawk!!  lol  It would have been nice if they'd said which one this is -- you'd think they could see the band.  I'm going for Bullet, too, PChemist!   ;D  Of course, if we guess this as well as we guessed the sexes...    ::)

So glad they updated the site.  The fluff on the displaced chick (I've decided that one is "bullet" based on my vast knowledge of these things and ...  ah shoot.  I just picked a name of the three) looks a bit like a bad mowhawk.  talk about a bad hair day!   :o

got it, thanks. I misread that part and for some reason, have had it in my mind that we had 2 females, 1 male. That explains that skinny bird looking a little confused and forlorn (still cute tho'), on the silo. Thanks for the reminder. I have 2 sons, 1 daughter and for sure, boys always try to go first! Now we just have to figure out who is who. We were told the names but those names can be for either sex I figure! :D

it must be hot there, that one laying down is really panting.  Poor thing.  Looks so sad with her beak pressed up against the wall.

yup,, boys are smaller, think of little Trey and big mama Princess. lol   Boys  fledge first though usually.  even though they are small, i think we talked about that somewheres also, how they are not as heavy so its a bit easier maybe for them to keep themselves afloat,,,lol   aloft, airborne, so to speak.   ;D ;D

Ballywing, why do you think it's the male? The posting on the site doesn't say one way or the other or am I missing something? When we saw the 2 remaining in the box last night, one was so much smaller and darker so I thought it was one of the girl's..... ???
Well the update on the Elk River site said there were 2 boys and 1 girl - so I figured if there's a boy and a girl left in the nest, then the one who fell out must be a boy? - I think the smaller darker one is a boy and the bigger one with all the fluff is a girl..? ???

it says somewheres, after they were banded that there were two boys and one girl.  Actually it says right beneath the pic that there are 2 males and one girl.  soooooo If the ones left are one big and one small, then that means one of the  small ones (boy) was the one that jumped yesterday.   :) :)

Loulou, thanks for the heads up on the update at the GRE site, it was a relief to here the little one is safe and to see a picture - now that I've seen him I believe it .. :D.

I agree with you all about the eagle forum.  Oddly enough, that was where I had heard about P&T originally and about the Great River cam.  My boss knew I was crazy about the peregrine babies on top of our office building so she sent me a link to the eagle site thinking I would enjoy seeing the babies.  Long story short, I poked through the forum and found a post about the Manitoba babies and the rest is history.
