good evening phanatics, hoping Lightning will strike twice with our girl spending the night in the box again. I woke up around 4:30 or 5:00am Toronto time to see Lightning hop out to the outer perch, look around and off she went.

whoa, that was a quick visit.  Just a jump in, stare quickly at the camera (while hiding chest markings, I might add, harumph), look out a bit, hop to rail, and take off.

I feel lucky to have been here at just the right time!

Woohoo!  falcon alert!  someone just walked in while I was reading this thread - I think it's dad (clearly an adult but the fisheye makes size judgements hard) but can't get a good look at the chest.  Cool!

You'll know it when you hear it.  It sounds like a squeeky "E-chup. E-chup. E-chup".

Depending on what the vocalizations were!

I think it's a description of one of the vocalizations that has to do with territory.  At least, that's what I've assumed in context when people have used it as it always seems to be associated with scraping in a nestbox.

I just caught a glimpse of (and heard) mom or dad scraping and E-chupping in the nestbox.  I did not get a good look at the right talon, so I can't confirm who it was.

so happy I checked back!  Delighted to see Lightning visiting, looking settled in for the night, even.  yay!

I was just thinking that Ballywing, so confident now. That was the girl who laid on her belly rather than perch and took so long to get up and perch with any surety!

I'm definitely in withdrawl. Haven't seen them for days.... I think that nasty weather they had today is heading towards southern ontario and we'll get it sunday 

Yeah I was just looking at the radar and we might just get some of that nasty weather if it tracks towards us.

I think so too. Wouldn't that be something if the boys joined her! One last time and all that...
