They are probably both at the nestbox, one in, one on or very near.  Kinda standard peregrine behaviour - better that both aren't caught in the box by a rival or predator.  Besides, other than for nesting, the box is of no interest to them, they probably spend more time on the cross-bar outside or on top than they do inside over the course of the year ... even when its raining or snowing, neither of which seem to bother them overly much.

Thank you for the explanation; and you are so right that the snow didn't seem to bother them too much.  As soon as it let up the one that was there flew off and a short time later they both flew to the box for a little bowing and e-chupping  ;D  All is well  ;)

Mom sitting and watching the snow storm, she must be wondering why she bothered coming home  :(

That's for sure.  It looks like a real blizzard there.   :( I am glad that at least one of them is at the nest box.

One of these two has been sitting out on the bar screaming for about the last 10 minutes.  What a voice  ::)  Not sure what is going on.

Nice to see lots of scraping going on here.   :)
And just to continue today's weather theme, there is another winter storm warning for Elk River as well as a flood warning.   :(  Just a little trivia, but you can actually see the Missisippi on the wecam and it really does look high.

This pair made a longer and much quieter visit shortly after 10 CDST.  They had their heads bowed for a much longer time and were making soft little noises.  One stayed in the box and last I checked was still doing some home reno, rearranging the gravel.

I remember TPC was questioning the existence of a "little black bird" visiting this nest. I went back in my archives and found a pic of the little bird. Can't post any current pics from the cam, because all I can get for the last three days is a scrambled pic. The little bird looks like a starling, except possibly for the slightly decurved beak.

Again, not a phanatic hallucination, there actually was a "little black bird"  :o   And I'm pretty sure it is a starling, as for the beak, that could be a case of something on the lens or a slight distortion due to light coming in from behind him.  Nice catch!
