So right.  But did you hear that CBC "plans to cut up to 800 jobs as part of its strategy to make up for a $171 million shortfall in 2009-10".  I guess we'll mostly notice in a change in news and programming, but it might also mean less resources for the cam.  ??

My fear exactly. Unless we can come up with a benefactor or whatever happened with the pandacam. I would hate to see the cam's hours restricted or go to some other solution to save money.

I love this camera...I wish CBC would do the same!!!  However, I posted in another thread that sometimes the anticipation is more exciting!
All I know is that The Forum would of exploded even more if the CBC cam was up and running (West side of course) the other day with a Falcon in it....Oh well!  It's good to be different  ;D

 ;)

No one on the ledge right now.  There was earlier -- I think female from the size.  It looked earlier like the clouds were lower than the camera -- something large and white kept flying by.  But it seems clear now; dry, at least.

she was sending him out for take-out.  and a conversation with ANY woman has no middle part because there is no ending, only pauses for breath.. lol.. any man will confirm that ( if we give him enough chance to speak).   ;D

Both were in the nestbox having a lively and apparently harmonious chat, then the male took off.  I am going to have to learn more about peregrine behavior, and try not to compare it to human behavior - after all, we don't expect the guy to take off half-way through a conversation; and the female seemed to be o.k. with this.

Mom & Dad just in box having a lively chirping session, no PG-13 action but they seemed to be talking about their day, the weather, .... and then one flew off!

Mom and dad in box, bowing and chirping - looks like some scrapping.

Storm seems to have passed through and it looks much better now.  Someone perched in box looking peaceful and relieved!  :)

8:24 am EST and it is storming there, blowing snow - low visibility.  Mom just flew in and shook herself off, poor thing  :(

Adult peregrines seem not to be enamoured of nestboxes.  They need the gravel and the shelter, but they don't use them unless they have chicks it appears.  And it seems to start pretty early - once the chicks are close to fledge age they tend not to go back into the nestbox either - or at least that is our experience with a variety of box types.

It looks a little bit better there now...can't really tell though!  It doesn't look like the snow is falling anymore, and it's most likely coming toward Winnipeg  >:(

I wonder where the peregrines go?  I kinda surprised that they don't stay in the nestbox..seems sheltered but hey, what do I know....I'm not a Peregrine  ::)

I had the cam on my desktop at the office all day and watched peregrine #1 (think it was the female) sitting and vocalizing and watching and snoozing and saw peregrine #2 come in the box and I wasn't all that sure that they were happy to see each other.. but all was good and lots of action. too bad the weather has turned :(

These peregrines are probably wondering what the heck is going on and why did they come back so soon  :o
