One chick has just discovered himself in the camera (reflection) he reminds me of those cards where they "blow up" the animals heads alot larger than the bodies ;D ;D

love that shot Kittenface, reassuring! still very sad about Bella. I very much liked the idea of a big girl named Bella (kinda have a special preference for the name) and I was just starting to enjoy a big Sis with all those brothers!

Mom had food and they saw it come in.  They must have seen her preparing it somewhere after the hand off.  There we go, a beak feed and little guy is first in line  ;D

ha! food tug of war between parent and chick and chick pulls parent into the nestbox! but parent prevails and beak feeding them now.

The GRE plant just posted an update:

Update for June 19, 2009:

The Great River Energy – Elk River Station falcon family suffered a loss on June 17, with the sudden death of the young female eyass Bella. It has been determined that her death was caused by a micro-organism called Trichomoniasis, which comes from eating infected pigeons. The remaining three eyasses have been treated with an antibiotic and are doing well at this time. We are monitoring them very closely.

Yes they are back...I am so glad those 3 are ok but we will miss Bella very much...fly free little baby girl.
