carly:
Lucifer the male was found with a fractured wing a few days ago.  He's going to need surgery so he'll be out of action for awhile.  Mystery is all alone with 4 kids to raise - and they are barely 10 days old.  No new male has been spotted.  Lucifer - is Jack and Angel's grandson, son of Mackenzie from the Burlington Lift Bridge so I was quite upset to hear this news as this is his first time nesting as far as we know.  He was born in 2015.  The female is still Mystery - unbanded and she's doing an amazing job considering the situation she has been put in.

CPF is on the situation and posted this update to their page - several of us are keeping an eye on the nest from afar to help them out as it's been over 100 degrees here the past few days and watchers are having a hard time out in the heat monitoring.  Temps go back to normal tomorrow so hopefully they'll have more idea of what is going on.

This is the organization that is helping him and trying to raise funds for his surgery:  https://www.facebook.com/Hobbitstee/

Alison:
The Kitchener nest has four chicks this year.

For the last few days, the chicks have been left alone for hours on end, and appear to be fed only rarely. They are much too young to be neglected in this way. I don't know whether perhaps there is only one parent at the nest, or if there is some other cause, but this is not a good situation.  :(

3 baby ‘grines’ arrive in Kitchener !!!
May 02, 2016 - Kitchener - CTV-Bell Media Tower
Lisa Reh Reports:

On Sunday, May 1 at 7:36 a.m., Karen observed an egg shell at the back of the nest box. A little time later, the adult repositioned enough so that a new baby ‘grine’ could be seen peeking out! On May 2 at 9:30 a.m., a second baby was observed by Karen as Caster dropped off a package to Mystery at the edge of the box. They traded off and on for a few minutes and eventually Mystery began to feed both chicks. Matt confirmed seeing 3 hatchlings this morning. Welcome to the world little wee ones!!!

CTV Kitchener Peregrine Falcon Cam

High above the CTV Kitchener studio, there's another family coming together.
Last year, the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and Waterloo Region Nature built a nesting box for a family of peregrine falcons nesting in our microwave tower.
Four falcon chicks were born and raised in the box, before learning how to take flight themselves.
Now it's another year, and the falcons are ready to breed again. As of March 24, there was one egg in the box -- so we thought it was time to bring back the livestream of our camera overlooking it!
