Any chance of switching the cam to ledge view, TPC?  

Unfortunately not, the CBC site doesn't seem to like the signal and all we get is a test pattern ... but I can zoom out to catch most of the ledge ...

Thank you TPC. The zoomed out view is much better for spotting any visitors on the ledge. I suppose the visit I saw was just a quick teaser, but it might have been a parting goodbye from a lengthy visit. If the CBC site doesn’t seem to like the signal then I guess that even if several chicks were coming to the ledge this year we couldn't watch them close-up (as we did a few years back). Hmm, I’m wondering if I’ve forgotten about a problem with the ledge cam ... though something is very vaguely coming back to me ... when did it stop working?

I couldn't tell ..... was looking at him/her from the side - looked brown to me, but it's 31 stories up. Wish I'd had my binocs!!

Heard a peregrine falcon on the cam a few minutes ago. Someone was close.   

I heard a call from the nest at 4:37, then shortly after somebirdie was on the ledge up beside the right edge of the box, but now out of view. I think there's still a chance for us to see more visits especially if the others decide to follow.

WONDERFUL news!!!  All together!    - They must be learning to fly pretty well to achieve that TPC?? Hope they go back to the nest now and then. What a great season it has been!! 

They appear to be doing very well - the Alt Hotel (according to what I can find) is 20 storeys high, and if they can come and go from that height then they have figured out how to use their wings to go up as well as away and have figured out how to use the lift that forms next to buildings to land on the top.

Whether or not they will return to the nestbox - I wouldn't, its a mess! but the ledge might be of more interest - particularly as it is concrete so cooler and in the shade for part of the day.  But Smiley's and Princess' other kids (Vimy & Chappell) never did return, so we will just have to wait and see.

These kids are amazing! I was so happy to see them all together on the Alt Hotel.

No one has been back to the nestbox - chicks or adults - since the chicks fledged last week so that will likely mean the CBC FalconCam will be shutting down very soon.  May not get advance notice of when, but if I do, I will post it here!  

We will of course continue to provide updates on what we see and I'm sure others when they are downtown will do the same!!

  This is exactly what I have been thinking in the last couple of days, TPC. With all the problems with the cam this year, it makes the season seem shorter than usual.
