The chicks are getting well fed now. DAd even fed yesterday.
I am baffled by lack of food the day 4th chick hatched and the next 3 after that. The only thing I can think of is that he got slightly injured and had to rest, as he was therewhen Peter and I went down and saw him, day after Gord took chick out.. and we heard him, but not right after 4th hatch or day after.
Now I have noticed that mom stays there more with chicks as you hear dad whining and off she goes and comes back with prey, or dad brings it to her.
she still goes off occasionally and hunts a big one, but 34 stories is a long way for male to hoist a bird.

Bev. reported that the chick is doing ok and will be part of the hack program.

Glad to hear the remaining 3 chicks in the nestbox are doing well, bev. :) Any update on the chick that Gord removed? How is his/her care going?
