These chicks are growing up. Still a bit of fluff on the underbelly, and it looks like they have a bad haircut.

They have two chicks now.

It's been mentioned before that the camera placement outside the nestbox is excellent. Its close, it captures all the comings and goings and the chicks venturing out, etc.

But the video clip on March 19th actually had them blurring out some parts of the clip.    A little too close.

These cameras are up again for a new season.

And now there are four eggs.

On Cam2, they are currently sitting on three eggs. One of yesterday's videos shows the owl getting up and there is a nice view of all three.

The site is up again this year, with a total of SIX cameras on two locations. Right now, at the first location there is one owl inside on cam2 and one outside on cam3.

July 4, all three chicks are flying.

I agree, one of the absolute best cam's out there!

The videos for June 30 gave me a heart attack.

First "De Val" (the fall) shows all three chick out on the limb at about 4:30 am. One of the chick decides to try to leap from the branch to the top of the nestbox. There is a lot of wing action and talons scraping on the sloped roof, but the chick slides off and falls. They show this part in slow motion as well, so you can clearly see the chick fall from view.

Then "Avonturier" (adventurer) shows two chick at between 7 and 8 am outside the nestbox and in the background you can see the third chick making it's way back up the branches till it is back with it's siblings. YAY! Way to go chick!

Okay, that might be the best webcam view I've ever seen. 
So cool seeing them out on the branches ...

June 28 - the three of them exploring outside and getting a little wingersizing done as well.

June 27 - after the chicks were banded and returned to the nestbox, all they wanted was to be in the corner. They all wanted to be in the same corner and by trying to go under the one already there, two of them end up lifting the one that was there first. The video was funny to watch.

Yesterday was the first time one of the chicks went outside the nestbox. Then again in the middle of the night, one chick went outside the box. Both of these excursions were short, but it is expected to happen more often as the parents will begin to tempt the young to come out.
