1517 hrs

Yellow decided to check out the ledge this afternoon (he's currently preening in front of the ledge-cam).

Leader that he is, Yellow is now Carson.  Since Fyfe is named after a Canadian, Fyfe is Red (he's also the rambunctious one) and White is Cade.  And Beatrix is Beatrix  ;)

My Kinderchicklets saw the chicks munching on an enormous looking bird in the nestbox this morning. :o They thought it was a duck... I told them that I didn't think so, but rather, it was likely a close-up of a very tasty pigeon. ;)

??? Had to run some errands this morning and logged on to see our Raddison Royals and OMG, do I see two pigeon carcasses? :P They certainly were hungry, weren't they? I can't believe they look so much like their parents now. They have changed their appearances since last night. There is so little time left to watch them before they fledge.  :(
Our female, is her name pronounced Bee a trix or Bee trix?

Was just checking out the picture of Loki the day that he fledged and it appears that he still has alot of his puffaloons left.  Sooooooooo................looking at one of the boys we could be seeing him decide on flight very soon.

Beatrix has lost more of her fluffies but still nowhere as clean looking as the boys.  Lots of wingersizing in the nest box by more than one of the boys.  TPC I think you may be right about July 1.  Maybe Beatrix on the date Dennis chose? ???

This is such a nerve-wracking time that I'm almost glad I can't watch the cam here at work (almost!) . . . watching those little guys walking the ledge so high above the ground, wingersizing all the way, always leaves me sitting on the edge of my seat (with heart in throat, as you said, Ellie!). I keep remembering TPC reminding us that their natural habitat would be cliff edges . . . but still . . .!

Now he is practising with a carcass in his talons.  So funny to watch but it is serious business :)

The young'un I was just referring to has had one almighty wingersizing session.  Bet their isn't one loose piece of fluff left in the nest box. The air was full of it. ;D  He certaily is strengthening his wings.  Looked good!

Everyone is looking bright and alert and enjoying the morning. You can sure see the tan feathers now.

TPC - great interview this morning. (CBC 89.3)

ditto, great job on the interview, tpc.

When I first looked at the cam, two birds were sitting on the ledge, now there is just one left.

One of our boys has decided the south ledge is his new spot.  He seems to be there all the time now!  Thankfully I haven't seen any wingercizing while he's up there!!! :o

I think I would prefer to see wingercizing ... at the moment, he's napping!!!  :o
Cheeky little darling ...
