Has Cade left again -- or is somebody back in the nestbox? Got distracted by a phone call and, all of a sudden, now there's only one bird on the ledge! Just can't take your eyes off them . . .  ::)

??? Tracy, at what age do the chicks take on the coloring of their parents? They are beautiful now with their color, but with time, do they look like Mom or Dad?

Some birds look just like their parents in less than a year after hatching - T-Rex looked just like his parents when he returned 9 months after hatching.  Others retain elements of their juvenile plumage, occasionally some breast/belly streaks remain a bit visible but usually its dark brown feathers amid the dark slate grey/black feathers on their back and wings.

And you are all welcome, being able to "share" the peregrines via the webcam does involve lots of work but its worth it 99.9% of the time.  Its at 2am when I'm still working that the last 0.1% makes me question my sanity  ;)

:) Would love to have Beatrix in this current view. The Winnipeg skyline and the two chicks would be what people call a Kodak moment. ;)

One more....

"Hmmm... should I or shouldn't I take the leap today... I just can't decide..."

I agree with you Cadria about the markings and colourings!  Beautiful!

Just returned home after fledge watching for a few hours this morning with Msd, Jazzerkins, Gingerlee & Saoirse. As some of the others have already posted, it was very interesting to watch Ivy attempt to tease Cade & Bea into flying (at least that's what it looked like to me). Ivy made several fly-bys and jumps in and out of the nestbox, while Princess remained perched on top of the Radisson, directly above the nestbox. Finally, just before I left the downtown, close to 10:30, it was wonderful to witness Cade follow him over to the Rogers Bldg. As many of you already know, Bea did a lot of wingersizing both in the nestbox and on the ledge. There were even a few times that I thought she might actually take off! :o So nice to see now that Cade has returned to the nestbox. :)

Sorry, forgot to post about Carson  :-[

He's fine, he's eating well and has taken a few short flights down the length of his flight cage, so he should be coming home very soon, just need to decide how to safely return him to the nestbox without spooking Beatrix and Cade.
Thank you, TPC for the update about Carson. So very glad he is taking baby steps. As important, please, there is no need for you to say "sorry". I have never known anyone who can multi task as much as you. We are all dependent on you. You are loved and respected by all of us.  :-*

Great news about Carson!

Tracy, is Bea bigger than usual for a female? Are the males smaller than usual? Or is it business as usual?
Just got a good look at Cade and Beatrix close together and she seems HUGE.

'Fraid Beatrix isn't very big for a female and the Cade isn't particularly small for a male, so their relative sizes are normal.  Remember, they are full-sized now and females are 1/3 again as large as the males.
