One of the juveniles is currently sitting on the last "a" in Manitoba on the Hydro sign.  Couldn't tell who it is even it wasn't windy as all heck out there.
That's great news! :) Can you spot him/her with your spycam, TPC or has someone sent in a report to you? :-\

Spotted him/her with the skycam - can see the brown/gold so know it was a chick sitting pretty ...
Looking now on the cam there appear to be feathers flying from above ...

I remember in 2007 when the chicks fledged they never came back to the nest box.  Only return was when Tracy released Chinook and Mistral from re-hab.  They were in the box for seconds and then they were gone.  As far as I know they did not come back to the nest box.  Last year was a treat to see them and so is this year.
Tracy have you ever heard anything about Chinook or Mistral.  Mistral was the sweetest bird ever.

Pretty good flying to land on the sign! (for a juvenile, I mean -- guess they've been watching their parents)  ;D

No birds on the nestledge right now, but sure does look like a really loose louvre slat blowing up there in this wind, unless it's part of the camera equipment cabling. :-\ Sure hope it doesn't come loose and bump one of the birds who may return to the nestbox/ledge.
I'm sure you don't have to worry Kinderchick. TPC and eye-spy will make sure every thing is safe for the kids :)

Rose is right, its one of the louvres and nothing to worry about, they are designed to handle the wind, its just wierd watching them move ... And Eye-Spy and Dennis are very good at making sure camera cables don't come loose or become a hazard.

She was probably so miffed at everyone calling her a male that she took off.  Told herself "Someday I'm gonna come back and show them!!! Just cuz I have little feet doesn't mean I'm not a lady"!    :) ;D
Hurricane can look decidedly grumpy and very definitely rules her Roost, and I believe at banding it might have been a toss-up:)

...I agree but if you are feeling sad just remember that Hurricane disappeared and was not seen for 2 years but I guess she went south for a sex change, she went as a male and low and behold came back  layed 4 eggs and produced 4 healthy chicks. :)

The old adage..... No news is good news!

Good reminder, BCBird -- I think that TPC tries to tell us this every year! Problem is that we all get so accustomed to seeing the birds in the nestbox, knowing their each and every move . . . and then, seemingly all at once, they're gone and we know so little about where they are and how they are. Withdrawal pangs are hard!  :'(

I haven't heard anything from any Manitoba Conservation, the police, vets or either of the wildlife rehab organizations, so that is good news so far.
... we do generally get reports quickly of injured and dead birds, and so far, nothing.

Good Morning!! Cade is preening on the box ledge. Looks like he had a good night! ....
Good morning!  Cade has just left Cade's corner and soared off in search of the day's events.  Did some stretches before taking off and turned around a couple of times.  Nice to see him take off, I missed his fledge the first time around!  :)

Thank goodness for you early birds that can watch the morning activity.
