Thanks for the response Tracy.
I was downtown yesterday but did not see Princess or Trey.  I most likely do not know where to look and of course without binoculars you can't see much.

Hey Moonstar - had hoped to have the spycam reconnected by now, but no such luck.  Did see one of the birds downtown the last time I was there, though I couldn't say for sure who it was.  Will see if I can take some time this week and camp out down there for awhile and report back on what I see.  If I can get the camera reconnected, then all the better.

Hm, I don't s'pose we get to see the spycam view huh TPC?  :P :P :-\

Unfortunately not, and not because I wouldn't want to share it with you.  The camera hardware doesn't like to talk to the website software so we can watch it online (and I take photos with it) but we can't stream it live to the web.  When we used it back in 2006, we had the image refreshing every 15 or 30 seconds but it had to go from camera to Shaw to Gatewest (my old internet provider who offered to capture the image every 15-30 seconds for us) to CBC.

So, its just me and the CBC traffic guy  ;)  I get it back up and running, I will take photos just like the beginning of the season (pre-ledge cam).

Going to see if I can't get our spycam reconnected in the next few days (Hey Larry the Accountant!  ;D) so that I can hunt up our favourite birds.  Since Pam is on holidays right now, we are missing half our voyeurs at the Hotel.  Mother Hen does a great job, but if the birds don't hang out on her side of the Hotel, not much she can do about it!!  With the spycam, I can keep an eye on them again - and I'm sure CBC and Shaw will like having their traffic cam reconnected.  :D

Thanks, TPC.

I still never see our couple, either flying around or on the tower at the hotel.  Rats!

I know that there isn't much going on at the Radisson right now, but am going to leave these "daily" (now weekly) chat threads active just so that folks are that are interested in new Radisson news or whatever will still be able to recognize where to go ...

Enjoy,

I gather Tracy had been having computer problems and really really busy. I do wonder if she does ever take a vacation?

From the Peregrine Chick:  not really ;)

Hello
Is Tracy on vacation??
Been on again off again with the forum......but it's ineresting reading...you guys are having fun!!!!!
Have a robin's nest in my garden with 3 eggs that are about to hatch...it's been great to watch the comings and goings of Momma & Pappa.Mostley it's been Momma but today Pappa is around a lot so I think baby robins will soon be here.I also have 2 cats but thankfully they stay indoors. We need to be quiet while we're out there or momma gives us a "talking" to. I like to think they are my "falcon chicks"
We have great weather here now  so I hope the babies comes soon.

Take Care
Marie

Normally osprey, like peregrines, do not like humans anywhere near - though, as we have seen through watching Tracy do bandings and Kyle's rescue, they will tolerate human intervention that does not seem to threaten the young.

In the previously linked video, Stoop (the star of the video) was actually one of three juvenile osprey that were orphaned. A rehab group, like those associated with the peregrines, took in the babies and were raising them to adulthood. Presumably they would help the osprey learn how to hunt and survive before being released back to the wild.

BTW, one of the people speaking in the background was cautioning that she might take a chunk out of the feeder's hand (the guy with the medical clamp). Sounds like an early, built-in protection instinct to me!  :)
