Tracy, I am glad we're going with a group name of The Lost Chicks (TLC).  I felt a little odd about giving individual names when we would have no way of knowing which individual had which name - this is a great solution and I appreciate you bringing it forth.

And the TLC had lots of TLC from us, even if we were only able to do it in our thoughts and by viewing the webcam!  TLC is a very warm-hearted name. I like it, too.  :)

Tracy, TLC works for me.  Good middle ground, you found.   :)

Last note about naming the chicks ... I think I shan't be naming the individual chicks.  (I'll be talking about this in the blog later today just so you all know)  Part of our relationship with nature is that we mostly are disconnected/isolated from it.  When we do get involved with parts of it, it is rarely dangerous and we remain in control of the situation, which though we think we are "getting back to nature" really isn't, or at least isn't in the context of wildlife.  Part of our isolation/disconnection from nature is our desire to have a personal connection with an individual rather than the species.  That's a bit of a problem.  If we can only see the trees around us, we won't notice when the rest of the forest has been destroyed.  If we only protect the trees around us, we are condemning the rest of the forest to be destroyed.

So, naming the dead chicks, which by the way a couple of folks are more than a little "creeped" out about, I'm going to find a middle point.   No individual names for the chicks, but rather "The Lost Chicks", which y'all can abbreviate to TLC which is really what naming these chicks is all about isn't it?  It has seemed to me that naming these chicks isn't so much for identification but rather in celebration of their short lives.  Post humous TLC.  I hope you will all approve of my choice.

Have proposed a middle point on the photo on the CBC Falcon Cam page as well, new photo but link to the story below or some such.  Will let you all know how it goes.

I hope she's right!  Perhaps they were discussing the Nosy Parkers who have invaded their bedroom!  lol

Update, both are on the east side of the Radisson right now - Trey on the nest ledge and Princess on the Radisson sign.  Sheila swears she heard them talking to each other.....

Tracy is really afraid we'll get our hopes up I think... ;) - I admit I'd be disappointed if they didn't re-nest - it's hard not to hope!  We'd have to spend the whole summer just talking about sightings - no eggs, hatching, puffballs, feedings, chick heaps, fledging, weather watches,  etc..... :-\ But we do hear your gentle reminders Tracy - it may not happen....... Still hoping though.  ;D

Don't give up hope, not yet folks, just don't get your hopes up too high.  As for no sightings - you've got sightings now  ;D  As for no feedings, chick piles, fledgings, crash landings, funnel clouds (had one touchdown in St Andrews just north of the City this morning), we will still be providing reports on the Brandon birds who are just a few days younger than The Lost Chicks.

Sheila just spotted Princess (we think.....not positive, might be Trey!) up on the "O" of the Radisson, just sitting quietly.  Saw them both yesterday.........

From the Peregrine Chick:  FYI Phanatics - Pam can see the east side of the Hotel, Mother Hen watches the west.

Tracy next question is Does Trey sit on the ledge if there are no babies or just Princess??  Princess sits with lovely white chest out for the world to see but one of them sits looking in and I can't tell who that is! Help

The lovely white chest is Trey, Princess has speckles up to her chin and there is much less white.  Without actually seeing them through your binoculars, I'd say you are looking at Trey facing out.  Look at size too - she is much larger than he is.  Once you get used to gauging their sizes, even if the other one isn't around  you can tell who is who.

Later Watchers and yes Princess is here. I have not seen Trey this morning.

Glad to hear one of them as around, nobody was when I went by about 6:30 this morning.  There has been some activity in the nestbox though ... still doesn't mean they plan to re-nest ... will have to wait at least another week for news on that ...

Well it's a gorgeous day and I just walked by the Radisson on my way to work - stopped & stood with my face to the sky for about 2 minutes - stared at the nestbox, the towers, saw NOTHING!!  >:( - Don't seem to have any luck seeing P&T out & about - maybe next time!!  ;D
