One of them found some "left over 'pizza'" and thought this is good.   :P

5:25 Winnipeg time. Two chicks awake or wiggling more than the other one. They are waiting for Mom or Dad to bring breakfast.  They are just so cute.

The grey of dawn--how can you tell it is dawn--it is cloudy :)  Has been since January ;D  None the less, it is 4:53 according to the computer and P&T are not about...can't see tail feathers anywhere.  The chicks are huddled together trying to keep warm.

Just having a read of yesterday's posts for the times after I went to my "chickpile," and there were a few suggestions on what to do with next years nesting.  I, personally, think that TPC did a great "on-the-spot" providing of some kind of secure nest area for P & T.  Building anything more elaborate might interfere with nature's long term plans.  We can see how big the chicks are getting, so how much bigger or better nest should we provide?  Princess is having a time of it feeding them and keeping them together.  :' (She is a very doting Mother, no doubt, and true to male species, Trey just doesn't understand. ???
Also, how come there is such a time difference between what is the posted time and current computer time?  Maybe that is the moderator's time of "it passes the acceptable to post" time ???

It is 3:20am here in the 'Peg.  All I see is really dark, dark, dark.  On second glance and using the zoom I do see the ledge at five, but I also see the wall along the side.
Oh, yeah, having trouble sleeping which is nothing new.  Happens, occasionally.

didn't mean to be up to start this for you all, but I am.  And with the cam zoomed in all I see is dark dark dark, with a wee bit of reflected ledge at about 5 on the screen, and the reflected wall up the left side.

look forward to seeing the kids in the morning and hearing your reports of brekky.   :D

Thought it was a rubbermaid container and not the T one. Maybe they needed a few mounded stepping stones of gravel and they would have been in and out. Thought for next year, which I hope doesn't come to fruitation, no synthetic boxes, a wooden condo is a much better. Who knows!

I'm not sure what's going on with Princess....I've never seen her do this before?  Tracy will have to answer these comments.

Birds change over time or she may be overly protective given last year's failure.  Can never really know what is going on. Or it may also be that the weather is making her overly protective.  We will have to see what happens when the weather gets warmer and as the chicks need less and less help with their food and keeping dry/warm on the nestledge on cool nights ... or she might be stress and hungry spending more time with the chicks or at the ledge, sleep deprivation and missing my brekkie would certainly put me out ...

HEY, I wore a beautiful tie-dyed t-shirt to work today! ;D  The brightest hue of each colour in the rainbow!

And the rainbow is relevant to this thread because I saw one when I looked out my window towards the Radisson  (fold wings and and bow).

About that pic of the nest ledge - TPC, that big mess in the corner - looks like old wood sticking up, or a hole or broken shingle stuff? - Is it hazardous at all to the chicks? (Sharp or pointy or something they can get caught in or on?)  ???....See I always need SOMETHING to fret about!!!  :P

Its roofing material and we don't think its a problem - not sharp or hard and the last time I was there, not something that would get caught on a chick ...

Well I can go to bed now.  Looks like Mom just came in and is beside the chicks.  It is dark but I think I can make out her shape.  I did not like when the chicks were alone.  I think they are too small to be alone at night.   ;)
