25 today, 28 tomorrow.  Temperature here changed on a dime! One day I'm in my leather jacket, the next I'm running the a/c.  :o

It's going to be hot today.  The chicks will probably seek the shade by the ledge for the next few hours.....or until the sun goes behind the hotel.  :) :)

A quick mid morning snack for two chickes out behind the toilet zone. Complements of Trey (I think).

Looks like a nice sunny day ahead.

thanks, 2kawaii!

Of course now they've all moved a bit.  I saw one lumbering around north of the nestbox (it's useful to me that north really is at the top of the screen!) and now settled in for a nap there.  The other two appear to be in the hidden south corner (I can see the random wing movement)

they certainly are getting stronger and more able to walk without faceplant stops.   :D

It's 9:30 am and the chicklets are playing "Where's Waldo" again.   Here's a hint....

Looked in on the chicks.  Had a bit of a panic.  Only two could be seen.  And then there was movement behind the nest tray.  Wheww, there are 3 chicks. One is moving around quite a bit.  He/she was beside the one by the nest tray and then went over to the poop art wall and now is over by the vent.  Other one is on the move now also.  My camera view keeps freezing. Damn lite speed internet.  Now one is beside the ledge.  Ledge edge does not look so tall with him/her beside it.

Good morning little ones.  All three were preening at their usual spot against the wall. One has now decided to wander about.  Boy are they ever getting fast...so much sturdier. Well they're all back to the chick pile for more preening.  Trey is still on sentry duty at the corner. Looks a little windy out there but the sun is shining...a beautiful prairie morning.

Events on the ledge were, initially, much the same as yesterday - chick pile and sentry duty. Trey just landed on the north ledge a couple minutes ago with breakfast (it is neat to have a wide enough angle to see him fly in). He checked out the chicks, who were still sleeping, and hopped over to stand beside them with the food. That got their attention. Two of the babes have now gone back to facing the wall and maybe trying to get some more sleep, but the third is trying to yoink the carcass away from Trey. Oh we have takers again - food won out over sleep.

BirdLover, if your Dark Crystal questions wasn't answered yesterday, the characters were Skeksis.

you'll still get them - the chicks will play hide-n-seek with the roof paper and the tuppernest and excellent hiding places.  or in-the-open hiding in the poop-art area.  you're dooooooomed!

No, at night we leave it wide angle so that when folks log in in the morning and can't see the chicks we done have panicked phone calls at 5 am!  ;)
