My question is.. do the adult Peregrines nest at the other end of their migration?

New question for TPC: What causes the chicks to be larger than their parents, initially? I've noticed this same trait in the Osprey and Bald Eagles in my area. Is it a process of the bones calcifying and becoming more compact? Does this happen with other aves, such as seed and nectar eaters? Thanks.

The chicks have a long way to fly this first year so their first flight feathers are longer than their parents' and they will be putting on as much weight as possible now so that they have reserves because when the chicks first learn how to hunt, they aren't very good at it.  Trey and Princess will supplement for awhile but then they will be on their own all the way down and all the way back up from Central/South America ...

Those wings are sure getting a work out - that was the first time I saw someone run while flapping wings.

Okay - now there is a little bouncing while flapping wings.

I think that was Trey who stopped by just long enough to pick at that wing in the bottom corner and then take off. Maybe he had a look in the pantry and decided to go pick up something fresh.

And now one is totally flaked out beside the drain cover -- whew, best thing to do on a hot humid day like this is nap!

Ah, there we go -- all three up and awake. Some serious wing flapping from one -- those wings are starting to look powerful and strong -- who just picked up a piece of something (then promptly dropped it into the poop art). The other two are just standing by, for now anyway.

Finally saw the third show a bit of itself in the shady corner.

In the bottom corner of the screen? I've been squinting at the screen and thought that, maybe, there just might have been a feather in view.

Finally I'm home and can catch up on the chicks! Two of them are alert, one preening and one just watching the world go by. The third is in hiding right now, probably tucked into the shade.

I doubt eye-spy and TPC can be bribed that easily. . .

I swear I see more dark feathers now than I did even just this morning!  wow!

I haven't heard back yet from my email.  Didn't TPC request also?  With this many of us phanatics pleading with CBC there should be a positive result.

The feeding close up earlier was great (aprox 15:30 local).

The close up of the poo corner - well I wonder if my boss made a donation with the condition that the camera focus away from the chicks for a period of time?  ::)

They are getting bigger - they look as big as Trey - is it just the fluffy baby-feathers that makes them look bigger or same size as parents ?

My concern and should of mentioned in last post, but you know me with ps's. Is that about her boss making a donation that the camera focus away from the chicks for a period of time.
