Hi Des, I know this is not on topic, but I usually open up the cam and then right click and open up the forum in new window. It works for me but there might better ways of doing it, which should probably be in the forum topic how to.............

One on either side of the drain cover -- they look like a couple sitting at a dinner table -- and the other has retreated to the south corner.

Dinner arrives from Trey, I think. One chick comes and grabs.  Only the 1st minute.  Others haven't approached yet.  I've got to learn how to split the screen.

Radisson - 2009 - July / Trey & Princess
Actually I've been circling 'round an idea, can't get away from the theme so this may be it .... need to do more research, alternate spellings, translations maybe ...  ;D
I'd be glad to help. I'm retired and have far too much free time.  If not with the names - fat chance-that I'd like to be on watch or help-patrol when the babes ( sorry, chicks) decide to swoop off the rather low perch they're on.  Let me know.  I am far too available for my own good - hence I'm usually lurking here.

In 2007, they were gone from the box & attached ledge after the first week.  In 2006, they flew back for the first few days after fledging and then they were gone for good ... Princess and Trey come back until they migrate, but not the kids ...

Since we're into questions (sorry, TPC), I have one. After the chicks fledge, how long are they likely to hang around the ledge? Will it be their home base until it's time to fly south? And when do they usually leave to head south? Okay, that was actually more than one question . . .but it's all part of the theme!

My question is.. do the adult Peregrines nest at the other end of their migration?

Nope, one brood per year.  The "other end" of migration is not nearly so happy a place, every bird in North & South America that migrates is there so its a case of everyone eating themselves/each other out of food.  Our summer is really the time when they get to eat well and recover from their time down south ...

Wow, that sounds harsh.  How large/small an area do they cover when they are all together?

There is no one person dedicated to the webcam at CBC but we should still see something shortly ...
Hang in there folks!  (and play nice  ;) CBC is working hard on our behalf)

I will email them and see if they need anything from us just in case ...

It would be AMAZING to be where all the birds are in the winter.  Dennis would never sleep!
