A severe thunderstorm warning was issued about 20 minutes ago, but it looks like the worst of it will go north of the city. There's another band of storms showing on radar around Brandon too.

I'm maybe a mile away as the crow flies.  The rain stopped a few minutes ago, and the wind is slowly dropping.

So Westwood, Osborne Village (close to downtown) and NK, Fort Garry, the chicks are doing fine.

Well they do have some protection being on the east side. If the wind shifts that it affects them they will probably scoot for shelter or parent will come in.

Weather looks awful out there right now.  Wind is so strong but is coming from the west.  Dust and debris blowing every where here in Fort Garry.  I sure hope the chicks will be okay.
They need to get away from the egde and get over by the wall.

Raining in Osborne Village now - here's hoping it will pass quickly and we'll have a lovely rainbow.

Well we're getting the driven rain now and it is from the west which is good.

Storm is coming directly from the West...we'll see what's coming or if it's already done.

Wow, thanks for the heads-up!  I have the windows covered to keep it somewhat cooler in here.  Definitely windy and grey overhead!  I'm not hearing thunder yet, the wind is winding!

North Kildonan is getting thunder, dark clouds and alot of wind right now. Does seem to be from the West so the chicks should have some protection if it hits downtown.

It looks like things are going to get wet tonight! The wind has really picked up & the temp is dropping. Run chicks run to corner!

Is there a place in the blog for how the 2006 hatchlings progressed?
Did they land on the street or on window ledges?
I don't think so.  We know Hurricane was in Grand Forks in the spring (April, I think) but have heard nothing about him since then, or about his brother and sister at all.
As I recall, at least one was rescued by a bus driver from the middle of Portage Avenue in the early hours of the morning.  I don't remember about the other two.
Yes , that was 2007 on the west side, my first year watching.
I was asking about the last successful brood raised on the east ledge
 in 2006.

Heck, it's the only "toy" they have except for a few dried bones.

We weren't using the current blog at the time rather we had it on the CBC site.  Its a good idea though, I should resurrect the entries and post them on the current blog as archival information ... thanks Willmax11
