I can't believe how old they look now, its incredible!
The one standing on the vent is either swaying while its sitting up cause its so tired but doesn't want to give up the "throne" or it is wind . Persistant little one! Someone needs to let him know he is suppose to share with his siblings.

How soon do their beaks gain any colour? I haven't seen the chicks in several days (missed banding, too,  :'() and I can't believe how much they've grown and gained in feathers.  The one on the vent, though...I have such a hard time making out his head from his body -- some beak colour would be nice!

6 confirmed tornado touchdowns in the Grand Forks area.  Good to see the kids all cuddled up together -- looks like a wet and windy night!

He certainly wants the attention.  I guess he doesn't like the fact that his siblings are in the corner trying to stay out of the wind and not watching him flap away!

I suspect you'll see him hop down in the next hour, he sleeps with his sibs, just likes to be the last one "in bed" ...  ::)
Of course, just in case he misses....something::)

Finally get to catch up on my chicks. My, how they've grown in the last day! And it sure does look windy up there. The camera is blowing all over the place! :o

I was wondering if the down coat is shed as the adult feathers grow in or does it become an undercoat?
