It seems that one of Phoebe's chicks hatched very early this morning. :)

Lots of rain in Orange County, CA. and Phoebe appears to be getting drenched. Apparently, she has been reparing the nest that Bob & Rose grew up in and has been nesting there recently. Maybe there will be a new clutch soon. :-\

Yup, they've both "flown the coop", so to speak, susha. But not to worry, I think they're still in the host's backyard and I even saw one of them the other day, after he/she fledged. And Phoebe is busy readying a new nest for new eggs and new chicks!  :D

Whoops! ???  Just checked back and I now see that we're watching a "video recording from Jan.1 - 5".   :-[

Guess that means that they're both gone.   :'(

What a wonderful video!  Bob looked like he couldn't believe it.  So funny.  Thanks so much for posting the link Kinderchick.  Very much appreciated.

Yes, Jazzerkins, apparently she fledged this morning, sometime after Bob returned to the nest. At least she didn't use him for a launching pad! ;) I missed her fledge but here is a video of it... up, up and away! I love the look on Bob's face.

Just took a look at the web cam and the nest is empty.  Does that mean that Rose fledged???

Yikes! :o Now it looks as if Bob has returned to the nest! According to the chat on the website, this is highly unusual. Maybe Phoebe has sent him back to show her the ropes and encourage her to leave the nest. LOL! They both appear to be settling in for a nap now. Well, not quite, Phoebe has just returned and is feeding them now. This certainly is a very interesting development.  8)

This morning, Rose has been "hydroplaning", so to speak, lifting up in the air above her nest and flying in that one spot. LOL! :D Just doesn't seem to have the knack or the courage to move forward.

Rose is still in the nest but she sure is looking anxious to fledge.

And I just missed it by minutes!  I'm sure that Rose will go tomorrow, when I'll be back at work and won't be able to watch the cam :(

Rose looks incredulous.

Particularly when he's using her for a launchpad ...  ::)
