The chicks sure are growing very fast! It looks kind of squishy in the nest right now. And it also looks as if the chick's eyes are beginning to open... BTW, the chick's names are Bea & Jay.

Some of the Kinderchicklets got to see Phoebe feeding her chicks this morning! Needless to say, it was very exciting and "cool", as one of the 'chicklets was heard to remark!

It's awesome to see some baby birds.  First time I've checked in for awhile.  They're just sleeping now, but hopefully, there'll be a feeding one of these times when I check in

Looks as if Phoebe's second chick hatched this morning and the Kinderchicklets got to see some of it happening! Very "egg-citing" for them!!!

Once I got past the annoying advertising, I was delighted to see little Phoebe on her nest, and feeding her chick.  I also heard crows in the background, and I think Phoebe hears them as well, and is sticking very close to the nest.

Yes Elaine, the advertising certainly is annoying, to say the least, but I guess that's what pays for the webcam, unfortunately. I try to open up Phoebe's webcam as soon as I arrive at school in the morning so that the Kinderchicklets don't have to watch or listen to the advertising. They sure were excited to see a baby chick when they arrived at school this morning!

Very windy today in California, where Phoebe's nest is located. Her rose bush appears to be blowing all over the place! Still waiting for second egg to hatch. First chick is wiggling around quite a bit right now and I expect that Phoebe has just flown off to look for some fruit flies to feed that lil' guy!

Very egg-citing!!! One of Phoebe's eggs just hatched and she just gave her brand new baby chick it's first feeding!

Phoebe laid her 2nd egg on January 4th. Now, "hatch watch" has begun. First egg is due to hatch any time now!

Thanks for letting us know, allikat! I looked earlier this morning and didn't see an egg. Too bad about the "intruder".

Phoebe looks to be breathing very fast. Do you suppose that means she's in labour again and is about to lay a second egg?

Unfortunately, Phoebe has an intruder that will not leave her alone.

Still no egg, but beautiful nest that Phoebe has created! Should be seeing an egg or two, any day now, I would imagine!
