Didn't TPC once say that Dennis has incredible instinct or intuition or luck at guessing on the appearance of our birds?  Are you just teasing Bccs, or do you have a feeling about Sunday, Dennis?!?

...and this comes from a lady that said to me..."No Snowy Owl along that road" as I looked at the truck and then at the Snowy... ::)
Perhaps I'll make a trip down town on Sunday to check for myself... :P

Had a look round about an hour ago, no birdies in the usual places, but it sure is a beautiful day out there.

Des - the 18 days is that is usually the latest date that the Radisson peregrines return to the 'Peg.  They could arrive at any time at this point however.
ANY TIME!!!!
Good grief!
Off today to borrow or buy binoculars.
Thanks.

Maintenance at the Radisson site yesterday - Dennis (for heavy lifting) and I were up getting messy and hopefully renovating the gravel in the box to make it more appealing for our pair when they return.  Of course, until they arrive we can only hope it Trey and Princess ....  :-\

And Dennis got to use Heidi to clean out the pigeon-decorated gravel.  UGH!

Also met with the new General Manager at the Radisson, and it was a great meeting.  The Hotel has always been greatly supportive of our efforts on behalf of the peregrines and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship for the next 30 years!!

Pullease, will someone tell me where we got the 18 days left till the falcons get back......
Saw lots of pigeons downtown today.  Trying to save up for binoculars.
Have a great weekend everyone.

No birdies yet in Winnipeg, but I have to tell you all the snow is disappearing rapidly and the temperatures are predicted to be very good for the weekend.
Just got back from Brandon and there's not much snow on the farmers fields either. Didn't see anything other than crows, magpies and a coyote, but I have a feeling it won't be long. ;D ;D

I just read Tracy's latest blog note with the picture of Winnipeg.  It would be very nice if it could just get more and more Spring like without any lion weather in March.

HAHA  Pam!  That a girl!

I can't believe it's already March 8th.  In just a few weeks, the falcons will be back.  Keep me posted everybody as I will miss them dearly.

Every time a pigeon flies by my window, I'm grabbing my binocs just in case!

I check the "days before they arrive" happily now each day.  Is this based on last year's arrival?
or what we know was the earliest arrival ever?
It's been sooooo mild. Maybe sooner?
Shorts indeed, and binoculars and happy upturned faces - can't wait!

Well it is the 2nd week of March and the weather is quite nice so who knows.  Wouldn't it be cool to be the first one to spot a Peregrine and especially if it is Princess or Trey.
I envy the fact that you are downtown and have the opportunity but I am glad too because we get the updates here right away.
They do need to nest on the west side this year tho.

Funny you should say that Mother hen, I did a walk around too today, no birdies, but we are 1 day closer to " shorts weather ".   ;D
