Saw one of them coming and going today....not sticking to the nest like last week.

...wouldn't it be better for a new bloodline to come in and mingle?  Wouldn't that keep the future hatchings fresh and strong?
I was actually thinking the same thing, jadoo.

:D  Hello Everyone!  Nice to see you :o  It's that time again isn't it.  And I'm guessing that the Falcons have arrived.
Nice to hear from you again too, Holly-Birdeze! :D But you might want to read some of the background info from this April thread. It's not Princess and Trey that are back in the downtown. It's Princess and Ivy! ;)

I agree with bcbird on this.

If Trey, (that's IF) doesn't return to the Radisson, I would much rather have Ivy pair up with Princess to continue the bloodline, than an unknown male.  Trey hatched here, Ivy hatched here and we hope that all other male tiercels that hatched in Winnipeg will eventually make an appearance.  Would much rather have the ones that hatched in their hometown, keep comin' back to their hometown.

...well, now, i think i might (mildly) disagree here...wouldn't it be better for a new bloodline to come in and mingle?  Wouldn't that keep the future hatchings fresh and strong?

1313 hrs - someone is on the JR Sign - assume its Princess as it/she is on the J and that has always been "her" spot ...
Just went up and had a look. From my vantage point, sure looks like Princess to me TPC.

take care all!

Air quality check, not a good day for spotting the falcons. Still nothing on the east side.
And I too agree with bcbird and allikat. Good strong genes are so important.
The loser here is Jules, but there's always a possibility that a male will fly through and take up with her.
Right now, Princess needs to have chicks and Ivy is the solution.
From what I've seen and read, they have not bonded. Perhaps Ivy is only accepted for the purpose of reproduction.  Time will tell.

Maybe Trey is in Birdy Heaven........
Well, let's hope not! :'( Talons crossed, he could still return to Winnipeg. Can you just imagine all of the downtown "drama", should that event occur?! :o

I hope you know that I was only teasing you, Kinderchick. I don't know how to indicate that on a blog, it's hard to translate a ton of voice.
Yes! Of course I know you were just teasing, moka! No worries at all! :-* I have developed a great sense of humour, working with the 'chicklets! ;D

Would it not be the eventual hope that Ivy, the fourth generation at this site, continue the  family into the future?
Maybe this is sooner than some of us would prefer, but of alternatives to Trey returning, this might be the best outcome.

Well said bcbird!

(I also hope that Jules keeps returning, as the West Winnipeg site is officially her territory.  Now she needs a faithful mate, and she deserves it).

Don't you find that it's sometimes difficult to see the longer view? Your point is a great reminder to me that I need to look further down the road to see the broader picture. Thank you for expressing it the way you did!
