Sami...........I have never been able to see the colour of the bands either........too much glare, Jerking or fuzzy picture. Sorry to hear about your hip ( that is why I have never signed up for fledge watch)!  So glad we have those who can do it and have been so successful at it.  The commentary is terrific!  Nice to know that the two males flew off successfully and that so far they seem to be okay.  Hopefully someone will see them soon and report back with the update.  Thanks everyone for all that you do! ;D :-* :-*

Thanks, Sami, for your report.
It is reassuring that you didn't see any evidence of downed fledglings like passersby stopped on the sidewalk or cars avoiding obstacles in the lane, or TPC, herself, with the infamous Home Depot bucket.

Isis just going to town on that meal.
Aura is checking out the view in the far right corner.

Looks like a lunch drop. A little hard to tell with all the glare and blur, but it looked like a parent flew in, was eating something while one chick watched, second chick leaped into the boz, grabbed what parent (maybe Princess) had, dropped that in front ofthe camera and went back to what was by the parent. Parent left, general switching of positions, now someone eating in front of the lens and the other on the edge of the box. It might be my monitor or the glare, but I've never been able to see the coloured bands, so no idea who is who.

Meal time... right in front of the camera, we have 2 in the nest, must be the females.

What a great view.... can't believe how "adult" they look!! :)

Just got back from downtown - had to quit after 1 1/2 hours as my hip gave out on me - and on the first day yet!! Does not bode well for fledge watching. I walked round and round and round the buildings in the area where the boys should have been - saw nothing, other than one lone pigeon. Called Pam to see if she could see anybirdies, but no luck therre either. One parent was one an aerial above the Radisson, initially one chick was on the edge of the nestbox and the other onthe ledge, later one was standing on the ledge beside the nestbox. From where I was, I couldn't see all the way down to the end of the ledge to see if one was still there. Nobirdie flying, no squaking - nothing. Strange. They probably spotted me and waited until I left before making a move. On the way home I thought maybe I should have checked the alleys, but I wasn't expecting to find anybirdie on the ground, so was only looking up (and nearly walking in to people).

Maybe too pleased with herself to be hungry?

Her sister is probably just outside the box to the left.

Our chick in the box has had a food drop off, and is busily self feeding.  I'm wondering where her sister is?

I agree with Bev, that there is now just one in the box.  It would likely be Aura (green,) and probably Isis (red) has hopped onto the ledge to the left of the box.

;D Bev, I am taking the liberty for all of us here, THANK YOU so very much for the great pics. We want to keep tabs on what could be last remaining chick in the nestbox. GCG

On the day that our first chick fledged, our birds have names!  The colour mentionned beside each name is the colour of the tape we put on the chicks' FWS bands so we can more easily identify them at a distance.

Thor - Norse god of the sky & thunder
- yellow male - he has more gold on him than his Loki so seemed appropriate

Loki - Norse god & notorious trickster
- white male - our first chick to fledge & definitely a trickster

Aura - Greek goddess of the breeze
- green female - probably our last chick to fledge and much gentler than her sibs

Isis - Egyptian goddess of protection
- red female - our largest female & the most interactive with all her siblings

I've left the contest on the blog for anyone who wants to see the final vote counts!
