I believe you are right, BCBird.  Dad is on the eggs right now, looking very alert and full of pep, which is surprising, as I am sure it has crossed his mind at one time or another that it has been a heck of a long wait for the eggs to hatch this year!  (Ha, ha).

The parent on the eggs just got up to stretch, but the eggs are in the shade and I couldn't see well to count them.  As there was not mention of restlessness and possible laying last night, I would assume Dot stopped at three.

That's Dad on the eggs right now, I recognize his full black cap.  Dot must have decided she needed a break and some exercise.

I noticed yesterday that Dad/Question Mark was sitting over the eggs quite a bit while he was in the nestbox, but Dot was still jumpy and moving about.

Early morning and THREE eggs visible!

2145 hrs (Wpg)

Just had a look at whomever is in the box right now and that looks pretty much like an incubation posture to me ... it may not be hard incubation right from the start, particularly if its warm outside but that bird is tucked down nicely to my eye.

The calm, reassuring voice of reason :-*  As always.

I knew you'd be able to tell us what was going on, TPC.

We so want this new family to be successful, regardless of the number of eggs :)

Maybe I spoke too soon ??? ???

She doesn't seem very committed to staying on those eggs.

Maybe there's another egg coming :)

I'm confused. :P

She'll settle, just have to wait :)

Didn't TPC say that incubation could start after the penultimate egg?  Maybe does she know she is about to lay her last egg this evening?

Might be just two eggs :-\  Looks like Dot has started to incubate :)  Thought I might catch a third egg being laid, but instead enjoyed watching Mom settling herself down onto the eggs.

(I think it's Dot  ::))
