And just as I was posting, they switched out, and Mom is back on the babies.

dad has a hard time fitting them all under him.  little wonder they're already switching out.

Look, Dad's getting a chance to parent!
I bet it won't be for long . . . the mother falcon has really been hogging the parenting duties since hatch day.

oops, now there's three heads again.  but the problem is, they aren't really opening their beaks any more!  so, food is being taken away.  chick pile is getting very still.  just waiting for mom or dad to come back and keep them warm (or cool them off, whatever it takes there today...)

Ha ha! It looked like two of them took a nap in the middle of feeding!
And feeding is over and they are all falling into one big sleepy full-tummy pile of white fluff.

now only two are still upright, and frankly one of them seems pretty half-hearted about wanting more food.  the others have fallen over into a stupor already.   8)

heh, I thought that one chick was going to sleep through the whole thing, but now all four are up and asking for food.  however, sleepyhead isn't really into it and his/her crop still looks pretty full...

The little guy was persistent and managed to get at least 3 bites towards the end of the feeding.  Mom has taken the remains away, perhaps as a meal for herself, and the chicks are all piled up together and cheeping.  And here is an adult to tuck up the chicks.  ;D

There is a feeding going on at Elk River now.  There had been a shift change a while ago.  Dad didn't bring any food but covered while mom went out hunting.

Mom is looking around and just called out for a food delivery. :D  I hope that one comes soon so that we can get a good look at the chicks.  At the moment they are peeking out from underneath her and peeping.

... it would be nice if they figured out that the 1st view is best until the chicks actually start moving around (after the chick-pile is finished) and then moved to this view where we can watch them looking over the edge and thinking about moseying out there.
I admit, I was wrong.  I'd really love to be able to have yesterdays view, today!  But considering the racket the wind is making in the microphone inside the box, the outside cam is probably shaking like crazy!
