I did watch the feeding early this morning and the little one that we worry about was fed well once Mom stepped around all four of them to get at him and feed him directly. Still nothing at this nest since then though. Those chicks have been howling for awhile now already.  Notice mama several times searching the skies.  Mama is calling out alot and the chicks get even more worked up.  Ugh, I hate it when things don't go as i'd like them too.  Have to head back to work soon and will look back here to see if anyone caught a feeding this afternoon.

and honestly, you shouldn't be ashamed of being able to honk like a goose.

Thanks Pchemist!!  I honk every time I see a goose...obviously when it's close enough to hear me.   ::)

Kittenface, I saw the begining of a feeding this morning, can't recall exactly when.  The chicks were restless and mom started calling out for dad to come in with food.  That got the chicks excited and they started making noise so mom left briefly.  Both parents came back, one with food and there was a feeding.  I find it hard to watch here because there is that one chick who always seems to be in the wrong place or wrong way and has trouble getting food, at least initially.  I checked in a while later and the feeding was still going on so I thnk that they had a good meal.   ;D

Hi Kitten, I saw a very good feeding this morning when I got into the office around 7:30 ish.  Very noisy and all chicks had a good share.

Sorry been busy with meetings and our banding going to start shortly...

Trust me...I thought the exact same thing.  Where are the Geese?  I don't see any.  Unfortunately, it isn't a Goose.  I've witnessed Geese up close, very very close in fact and I can honk like a Goose...(long story  :-[).
But it is in fact the falcon that is making that very low sounding honk before the typical falcon squak.

Yes the chicks are looking for food, but I swear there is a goose sitting just out of camera range, and every time the babes start making noise, you hear it HONK !  we have enough of the King of Turd here , i know what they sound like, and thats a flipping GOOSE !   :o

Yeah...not sure on that one Loriann  :-\
I don't get the low honk combined with falcon squack!
Perhaps we should call it "Squonk"   :D

*sounds like the chicks are hungry*
