Banding went very smoothly - was a bit worried we wouldn't be able to get the chicks, they do like the balcony do these two! Chicks were on the balcony when we arrived, then Ella came in with some food and we needed to wait until the snack was over. Then one chick was outside and the other chick was half-in and half-out. So we came out on the roof and let Pip find us, then Ella in the hope that their parents' protests would push the kids inside and it worked - or rather worked just enough for us to scoop up the outermost chick before it knew what was going on. All was pretty standard after that
We have put red tape on the male chick's band so he should be easy to spot as they continue to grow.
As for the camera, yes, we are working to switch over today - or rather tonight. With the new setup for Shaw, I can't do the switch but Eye-Spy can. Unfortunately he couldn't join us for the banding (day job and all that) to make the switch over while we were there. Instead he's going to work on it this evening.
